The Almighty does not make random decisions to see if they will work. Being God, He knows what needs to be done, when and how. Those who trust and believe in His Word will never be confused or ashamed. So let the Most High direct your life and you will never stumble over the obstacles placed by the devil in front of you. God is more powerful than we can predict and proceeds wisely.
Just before leaving for Galilee, Jesus was in the city of Sychar, by Jacob’s well, where he spoke to a Samaritan woman and convinced her that God loved her. She called the men of the city, telling them to come to see the man who had told her about her life. They marveled at the Master. After classes with the Savior, He still spent two more days there (John 4: 28- 43). Christ followed the direction of the Father!
Certainly, the inhabitants of Sychar tried to constrain the Lord to continue with them, but the Master had to visit various places to bless other people. If God is leading our lives, we will be sent to certain places on the right day, because someone there will be waiting for us. It is good to be successful in this mission. No matter where God sends us, He will go with us.
Jesus would go to the city of Cana of Galilee, where he had made water into wine. There, many people were waiting for Him, because this prodigy must have been news for days. After all, no one had ever heard anything like this. It is important that the saved always live in the presence of God, in communion with Him, because they are the salt of the earth, sent to help the needy (Mt 5:13).
Why do we see so few people truly putting themselves at the disposal of the Lord in our day? Occasionally, some are used to solve problems, but this could happen all the time. Now Christ said, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also, and greater works than these (John 14:12). How many valuable opportunities are lost, because many who claim to be servants live in the flesh and, as a result, are not sent to do the work!
It would be wonderful to see the saved giving a special word to those who go through unfavorable circumstances such as incurable diseases, lack of resources and other ills. The facts of biblical days can and should occur to us today. After all, are we called Christians or not – like Christ? This is the time to respond to the needs of sufferers. To do so, we must proceed like Jesus.
Christ knew that His going to Cana, or anywhere, was the Father’s plan. Doesn’t God plan on sending anyone else as His instrument today? It bothers me a lot. We will account for time wasted outside the Lord’s harvest. Are we prepared as workers who have nothing to be ashamed of (2 Tim. 2:15)? May God’s love compel us to live consecrated. We must be His faithful servants!
In Christ, with love,

Lord of wise attitudes! When you made Jesus feel the need to change His course through Samaria, You wanted Him to meet that woman at Jacob's well. Now, by sending Him to Galilee, You knew that that officer would lose his son.
You are the same, the only one who knows all things. Father, you wish to use us as you did your Son. But we have wasted time on the things of this world rather than on your direction. We need a radical change in our being!
Closer to You, we will hear Your guidance and know when we have to leave for Galilee, return from there, and then go elsewhere. By Thy will and Thy love we must bend! Amen!
