If you say, “Surely we did not know this, ”Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?

Proverbs 24:12

Telling lies has never paid off though that’s one of the snares the devil uses the most in order to entrap the children of God. That’s why many people lie and consequently get caught by the enemy’s clutches, becoming bitter, sad and troubled. As they turn the act of telling lies into a habit, all sorts of mishaps start to befall them because when they give in to temptations demons start to take control of their lives.

Satan can try and lead you into telling lies or into committing any other wrongdoing, but it’s your choice to listen to him or not. He can never force anybody to sin because freewill was granted to all of us. The verse mentioned above is addressing us conditionally, “If you say”. Therefore, if you’re tempted to tell lies but don’t do it, the devil will not be able to catch you. However, when people give in to a temptation they become slaves of the one who led them into error (II Peter 2:19b).

When you tell lies or commit any other sin you become completely filthy in the spiritual realm. As a result even if you pray, ordain or if a consecrated servant of the Lord prays on your behalf, the miracle won’t happen. The only way out is turning to God and confessing your errors because if someone has been harmed due to your error, you must go up to that person and make amends with him or her.

Furthermore, once God gave you the understanding, trying to justify your sins by saying you weren’t aware of them is, by all means, making another error. The Lord helps all those who seek His assistance and, despite the temptations, He shows them a way of escape. The moment you seek assistance from on High you frustrate the devil by showing you know how to resist. On the other hand, something worse can happen to you if you surrender to the wicked one. Definitely, telling lies doesn’t pay off. Therefore, ask God for forgiveness before you shed bitter tears.

Our inner being is always naked and open to the eyes of The Lord; in fact, everything is crystal clear before Him. Even that temptation which breaks into your heart won’t go unnoticed to God. Therefore, the right thing to do is confess your wrong deeds to Him and make the decision not to sin again.

God will never take His eyes off anything and He can see absolutely everything that’s going on in the world – either good or evil. On top of that, He’s attentive to your soul in order to see how you react when facing the devil’s onslaughts. Therefore, when a temptation comes over your life the Lord will show you the way out. You’ll only need to listen to your Father’s voice so you won’t fall for the enemy’s lies.

The Lord’s reward for all men will be according to their works (Revelation 22:12). Thus, those who do good will be greatly rewarded whereas those who do evil will go through eternal suffering. So, you have to decide what you’ll do with the devil’s proposals. Pretending you don’t acknowledge what is coming from him won’t override your guilt; on the contrary, it will add yet another sin: the sin of lying.

In Christ, with love,
