05/08/2020 - SALVATION IN THE TIME OF TROUBLE

O Lord, be gracious to us; We have waited for You. Be their arm every morning, Our salvation also in the time of trouble. Isaiah 33:2

In Isaiah’s day, the world lived with “heart in hand,” for the Assyrians had no limits to increase their territory. As much as any nation decided to say no to them, or put an end to their petulance, it was humanly impossible. But God knew how far to let them go. Isaiah’s prayer was answered. So when they tried to subdue Judah, they could not even shoot an arrow into Jerusalem.

Although your problem is great, the Lord is with you, and nothing will hurt you. The Assyrians symbolized the oppressive kingdom of darkness. However, one day, with the answer of the Most High, nothing needed to be done. The existence of Christ’s Church is proof that He overcame the evil one. It was built by the Savior; therefore the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it (Mt 16:18). Hallelujah!

Those who wait on the Lord renew their strength, but whoever puts his trust in man will never be refreshed and will feel weaker every day. The saved will always rise like eagles; just seek Him who is the strength of His people (Ps. 28: 8). As for the lost, no one can help them. Not even the devil will be able to “do” something for them, because he is a loser. To God be the glory!

Many wait patiently for the Most High, so they will not tire of doing what He says, nor will they be ashamed or confused. Now, the warriors of the “mighty and invincible” Assyrian prepare! Certainly, they will cry in public at their defeat. Our Father not only has a strong arm to help us, but also our strong Arm. Then we will emerge victorious from the battle. God is tremendous!

Having the Almighty in every battle, we will never lose a foot of our territory. The necessary has already been done against the infernal kingdom when Jesus triumphed over him in His death on the cross. Alone, Christ entered the devil’s empire and overcame it for us. After this fatal blow to the enemy, the Son of God was raised with the keys of death and Hell in hand (Rev. 1:18).

Rejoice! The Lord is your salvation in the time of trouble. If you have been distressed and sad, mourning what has been going on in your life, this is an attempt by the enemy to subdue you and destroy you. By believing and determining what God says belongs to you, there is only one way: to be successful. So do not “throw the towel” or give your opponent a taste for saying you beat him. Right now, scold him!

He who waits on the Lord is not despaired if the blessing is long to come, but watches and prays, having faith that the Most High will honor His Word. To trust in God is to give Him the direction of your life and to believe in the Scriptures. What kind of God is the Lord to you? The true? Yes!
