David was used to receiving God’s directions and carrying them out. Therefore, he transmitted to his son the following message: Solomon would build the house of the Lord and His courts. Just as the king did, we must inform the participants in the work what we have heard about them, for the Almighty’s words have a purpose. The servant cannot improvise, saying what he has not heard or what he thinks is good.
If God does not reveal something to us, and yet we give a message to someone as if we heard it from Him, at the very least we have lied. This is a very serious mistake, and for this reason, we will not be admitted into the heavenly kingdom: But outside are dogs, and sorcerers, and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie (Revelation 22:15). It is not worth risking your eternal happiness. So don’t lie!
The Lord was specific when He stated that Solomon would not only succeed David, but would also build the house of God. Whoever hesitated after this declaration would have to conform to the decision of the Most High. Now, he who does not fear Him – usually goes beyond what is allowed and doubts the Lord’s command concerning the conduct of His work. Such a person is a reprobate and will spend eternity in darkness if they do not repent. Poor life!
The best thing to do is to bow down before divine guidance, convinced of it. Unfortunately, there has always been and there will always be those who get angry when their personal goals are not carried out. These poor people will live without the Lord’s presence and will not even be helped in their daily life. They only see in the heavenly message that which interests them, because this way they think they are happy and fulfilled.
During my walk of faith, I have seen this happen on several occasions, even before I became a preacher. As a child, I saw someone feel harmed because of a church decision. He rebelled and opened his own congregation, which never flourished. In this case, although I was a boy, I questioned, in my heart, that person´s attitude. His “church” never received visitors, so he opened the service alone, preached to the wind and prayed.
Even before David died, Adonijah, his other son, declared himself king. That deposition did not come from God, but from that boy, who thought he was the natural heir: Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, “I will reign. And he prepared for himself chariots, and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him (1 Kings 1:5). The result of this folly: he received the death sentence. Don’t rebel against God’s plan, for He will act!
The kingdom was to be given to Solomon, because the Almighty had chosen him as His son and promised that He would be a Father to him. Whoever fears the Lord submits to His will. You will have an eternal loss if you allow yourself to be used by the enemy. Therefore, do not allow this to happen. God will honor those who honor Him (1 Samuel 2:30).

Lord of wise decisions! There is no way to rebel or refuse Your orders. Why would someone call himself something, if You didn't designate them for such thing? This did not come from You, but from the enemy!
Even without Your protection and guidance, Adonijah thought he was king over Your people. There are people who dare to be that for which they were not prepared! May Your mercy and Your love protect whom You have chosen and anointed!
Another Adonijah cannot arise in our midst. Help us! We must be obedient; then we will be rewarded for not causing You scandal. Those who honor You - will be honored, and that is enough to settle any conflict. Peace! Amen!
