I sent the hornet before you which drove them out from before you, also the two kings of the Amorites, but not with your sword or with your bow.

Joshua 24:12

The children of Israel have always relied on the help of the Lord in all their battles, which represented not only an effective blessing for them but also a prophecy of what the Almighty could – and can – do for everyone who heeds His commandments and complies with them. In fact, the Almighty is capable of amazing works to help His people to get rid of the arrows that the enemy sends directly or indirectly in order to steal and kill and destroy those who are of God (John 10.10a).

The Lord\’s command was that the Israelis occupied the Promised Land. In Canaan, there were at least seven peoples. When they disobeyed the divine order they found out that the Lord had sent a different army ahead of them. The enemies, in turn, became desperate, frightened by the plague of hornets over all their territory. They had never seen anything like that, therefore many of them moved away from that place, and those who stayed had no more encouragement.

The salvation of the Lord occurred not only in biblical times. Even today, He has His weapons to help us too. When we abide by the ordinances of our Master we discover that He does special things for us. Our enemy, who used to feel strong and invincible, sees his confidence collapse in the blink of an eye because the Almighty creates many situations that cause the enemies to flee the field so that the children of the Most High can take possession of it. So no matter what kind of fight may be in course, the moment our General gives us the order to possess some land or do His work, He will take care of every detail so that we can achieve victory.

It is impossible for any command of the Lord to fail. In fact, no promise made by the Lord has ever failed and will never fail (Numbers 23:19). The moment He speaks, His plan has already been devised and He has done whatever it takes for us to attain His blessings. However, those who pay attention to the threats of the evil and insist on entering a new land instead of following God\’s guidance will find out that they have been deceived by Satan. Nonetheless, the will of God shall be fulfilled regardless of the circumstances. By the way, God Himself is in charge of sending towards our opponents \”giant hornets\” such as lightning bolts and arrows (Psalm 144:6).

The Lord is a mighty man of valor, a warrior in every battle (Isaiah 42:13). Therefore, when facing any battle – whether it is against an illness, a financial problem, etc. – He will be at your side. At the mere thought of what the Father can do for His children, the enemy despairs and uses his tactics to try to defeat them. However, he who remains firm in faith will see the Lord fulfilling His Word of victory!

In Christ with love,
