Before Jesus came into the world, the devil was this strong enemy who could destroy anyone. But because we have accepted Jesus as Savior, we can simply laugh at the adversary and live forever free from evil interference (Colossians 2:14,15). We are the delivered people, for the operations of the night have ceased for us: The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. (Romans 13.12).
Now, times are different, because the devil and his band of demons, who lived doing evil all over the world, are nothing but defeated, who will never raise their heads. If you are saved, you belong to the Lord’s flock. Therefore, refuse any work of evil. A Christian must act as a child of light, in whom there is no darkness, and stop worrying about the devil (Ephesians 5:8). You cannot go back to your pre-salvation practices!
Our position today is one of authority over evil (Luke 10:19). As such, we must be fearless of the evil one and walk in the fear of the Most High. Our present pursuit is to please God by having and keeping His commandments. Such pursuit proves that we are His (John 14:21,23). Take care to stay away from sin, even in thought; otherwise, that would be the enemy’s way of working to get you into his hands. Watch to be in the presence of the Lord!
When we are connected to the Father in full communion through prayer and Bible knowledge and close the gaps for sin, our position in Christ makes us more than conquerors over all things (Romans 8:37). However, if we close our eyes to or forget the statements of the Word concerning our position in the Son of God, we will be like those who have never heard of the beloved Savior. There are Christians who are constantly oppressed because they do not know who they are in Jesus.
David confessed his position in the Kingdom of God: God is my rock, and in him I will trust; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower, and my refuge. Oh my Savior, You save me from violence (2 Samuel 22:3). Now he spoke by faith, because the devil had not yet been overcome. Today, we no longer need to speak like that, only to confess that we are the people delivered from every curse. When evil visits you, remember that Jesus has overcome it!
When an evil onslaught comes against your life, don’t even pay attention to it, for the Bible assures you: So shall they fear The name of the LORD from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him. (Isaiah 59:19). So every time evil approaches, remember: God’s power is already at work in and through you. Do you believe?
In conclusion, keep the statement of the apostle John: For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcomes the world: our faith (1 John 5:4). Whoever has faith in Christ succeeds wherever he is sent by divine will. Do not let your soul take you back to the past. Believe and live!
In Christ, with love,

God, our Deliverer! We no longer live in the hands of the enemy because of Jesus' work at Calvary. Your plan has been fulfilled in its entirety. Therefore, we will not be fearful or desperate when temptation approaches us. We are victorious!
We need to know more of what Christ has done on our behalf. We know of His sacrifice for our salvation. When You reveal to us the breadth of redemption, the problem we think is normal becomes a great opportunity to praise You!
Father, open our understanding of the greater works to be done, that You may be glorified in Your Son. After all, today, we are free and within the will You revealed in placing our ailments, iniquities and all our pain upon Jesus!
