There is no reason for Christians to fear the empire of darkness, because according to God’s Word, the devil was defeated and humiliated by Jesus (Colossians. 2:15). It is unacceptable for the Church to continue to despise the Lord’s statement and live in terror of what the one who was defeated and annihilated by our Savior can do. The evil one can only operate where people, not being informed about spiritual reality, submit themselves to him.
For our justification to be possible, the Son of God humbled Himself, taking our form, in a combination of factors set up by the Father (Philippians 2.5-11). Now, Jesus came and showed us how to live with our heads held high, without fearing the threats of the failed kingdom of darkness. If the Word of God is the Truth, why not believe in it? The worst thing is that the adversary is dominating the Church and its members with his lies. No!
In the verse prior to the one we are studying, the Spirit of God informs us of the work done by the Savior in His death, saying clearly: Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil (Hebrews 2.14). Now we just need to trust our Father and praise Him for having planned and executed our deliverance.
The Church must pray as it pleases God, in a positive way. We cannot cry out in tears, asking Him to do something against the adversary. The adversary has already been totally defeated in the death of Christ. So, every time the devil tempts you, bringing you any evil, stand up in the Name of Jesus, and cast him out with all that is his, for you are free from all his wiles. Next, don’t keep sending the evil one away, but believe in what the Lord has said.
If we are free from the fear of death, we have to take our new position in Jesus. The devil will succeed in oppressing those who accept his temptations. So don’t let him do that. Remember that the Lord warned us of the danger of not living holiness: But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct (1 Peter 1.15). Truly, we are loved by our God and Father!
We are no longer subject to bondage. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, the reign of fear and cowardice ends over us, because we are totally free. The Scriptures speak about our spiritual condition: He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love (Colossians 1.13). Live the Truth in Christ and refuse every temptation to submit to the devil and his will. Amen?
From this moment on, you became responsible for glorifying God with a new way of living: without fearing hell. Now, don’t keep telling the devil that you will stop giving in to him, because he already knows that. Disregarding his actions, believing what the Bible declares about you, will lead you to live far from the deceptions and evils brought by the enemy!
In Christ, with love,

Lord of our deliverance! Hallelujah! We can and must believe in You and live free from fear, cowardice and the other actions of the evil empire. Your grace is enough for us from now on. Let us live boldly before You, forever!
We are grateful that You have rescued us from our vain way of living. Now we are certain that we are part of the Body of Christ, and therefore, we are Yours. Nothing will separate us from Your love. Thank You for all that You have done! Teach us to act rightly.
We desire that our lives be a constant praise to You! May Your Holy Spirit rule over us and guide us in the paths of righteousness and may we never forget that we have been made in Your righteousness in Christ. We do not fear death nor are we subject to the evil one. Thank You!
