“And the LORD said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.” (Judges 6: 16)
When Gideon heard the prophet of the Lord telling the people of Israel the reason why the Midianites were assaulting him, he believed that the Most High was with him. So, he’d promptly do everything he was told to do. The same is true for us, my brother, if the Lord tells us to do something, through His Word, we mustn’t disobey Him or be shy because those who behave that way will experience the second death (Revelation 21: 8).
The Israelites asked the Lord to deliver them from their enemies; yet, instead of responding their request right away or sending a strong wind to sweep out their opponents straight into the sea, God sent them one of His servants with the right message. Suppose you’re going through a crises so you ask our Father to set you free; do you know what you’ve got to do? Listen to your pastor’s messages and also keep your eye wide open as you read the Bible and see what you feel in your heart; that’s the way the Almighty God usually responds.
That prophet’s message filled Gideon’s heart up with faith. We don’t know whether he let tears drop or whether he fasted or whether it took too long for him to plant wheat. Yet, when his wheat field was ripe he’d grind the grains to put them aside and away from the Midiatines’ hands, the Angel of the Lord appeared to him with encoureging words like those in this message. From the moment he paid heed to the divine message, the Most High began walking with him all over through out the next period of time. And the same ocurrs with anyone that does the same thing; for God’s with all those who are willing to respond positively to whatever He tells them to do.
We mustn’t have doubts as we serve our Father. Even the tiniest details are unveiled when we’re closely connected to Him. So, don’t let your heart be filled up with fear no matter how hard or intricate your mission seems to be, once God, the One who has trusted us to do such significant duty, will be before us to do it Himself (I Thessalonians 5: 24). He said to Gideon: Surely I’ll be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.
The Midianites were inumerous like the sea sand. They came well trained and armed up to their teeth and also determined to humiliate and rob the Israelites. But, everything would be different now since there was a man in Israel whom
the Lord could count on: Gideon, the one whose duty was to free the people of Israel; that’s why he’d been assigned by the Lord.
My brother, once you’ve heard the voice of God regarding your issues and those of your family or those of the group of people you’re in, have no fear! Go ahead and take possession of your blessing. The Most High will take care of your life provided you won’t run away. Having Him by your side, you’ll be able to overcome any devilish assault against you. So, though the battle might seem massive, you mustn’t forget that the Almighty God is with you and it’ll be like defeating one man. The fight will be easier than what you imagine since the Lord’s with you.
In Christ, with love,
R. R. Soares
