“Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have practiced deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips” (Romans 3:13)

There’s no remedy for the worldly men, unless they convert to Christ; the poison of sin got into mankind and they became extremely dangerous beings. The verse we’re going to go through gives us the picture of all those who haven’t converted to Christ yet and who don’t fear God. It’s not by chance there are so many illegitimate children, so many bitter and oppressed people in the world. That’s the kind of people we have to live with. That’s what we become when we are without the Grace of God, but He has begotten us again to a living hope (I Peter 1:3).

It’s our duty to take to those wandering and mistaken lives the medicine that can turn them into new creations. When the Lord shows us an accurate image of the lost ones, He’s not frightening us; instead, He’s warning us that that’s the type of people He wants to save. So, now we’re aware of it, we have a goal to pursue: to turn those people into children of God. Yet, at the same time, we should not put our hope or trust in them because they won’t stop being wicked unless they experience the new birth.

The message we need to convey to them mustn’t be that of condemnation, but hope, love and faith. Now, all of them will be worthless to God if we don’t turn them into new converts. If that doesn’t happen, there’ll come a day they’ll be thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone which will burn for eternity. Their sentence’s already signed, yet many of us may be included in that condemnation as well. We’ll be in the same situation if we do nothing to save them. If we commit the same errors, we’ll receive the same sentence. We’re not allowed to carry on sinning just because we’ve been saved now. On the contrary, those who’ve been enlightened will have a greater responsibility if they turn back to sin (II Peter 2:20-22).

Christians who fear the Lord and know the spiritual status of the lost but get involved with one of them in a business or marital adventure are running a very high risk because that’s the sort of people they’ll have as partners. Those who do that will undoubtedly go through a lot of trouble and suffering since someone who pays no notice to the warnings of the Lord will eventually realize with sorrow, pain and a lot of anguish how foolish they’ve been. The children of God must be more than sensible: they must be obedient. Nothing has been written out of the blue but as a demonstration of our Father’s love. The Scriptures declare that that’s the way those who have not been born again are: your children, spouse, friends and other people around you. So, do all you can to preach the Gospel to everyone!
