27/07/2012 - The advantage of being a wise servant

The king’s favour is toward a wise servant, but his wrath is against him who causes shame.

Proverbs 14: 35

The Lord, our Father, is an emotional God considering that He is looking forward to rejoicing with His children’s attitudes. That occurs when they serve Him wisely. I am absolutely certain that there is nothing better in life than having God, The One who is perfect, rejoicing with our attitudes. If that occurs we will have a lot of strength because the joy of The Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 9: 1); yet, the opposite is also true.

Wisdom is a virtue that makes us foresee the danger so we can then turn away from it. On our journey here on earth we need that blessing a lot considering that our enemy – the one who is never pleased in seeing us thriving – will do all he can to set up his snares for us to fall into. Those traps are always set up to catch all those who do not believe in the declarations of The Word of God. Regrettably, many people who consider themselves as belonging To God are still caught up in the enemy’s snares.

The Most High does not address us as robots – our status in Christ allows us to set our feet only where He wants us to, and no evil can ever reach us. The truth is that He is always near to keep us and to show us our adversary’s treacherous plans against us. Yet, we have to be wise for the enemy not to succeed in getting us entangled.

The wise servants, as they perceive the trap ahead, promptly make the prudent decision of taking a turn further away from it; in doing so, they will not fall into transgression. Those people who do not accept what the divine wisdom is showing them never cease from tripping over and then falling; even though, later on, they usually repent and ask The Lord to keep them from the snares set up for them. You must never despise wisdom considering that, being wise, you will make The Lord rejoice.

Those who despise wisdom ought to have a second thought on it and begin being obedient to the divine hints instead. God would never warn us of something not perilous enough to take us away from His presence. When someone leaves the divine presence they, shortly afterwards, find themselves under the authority of the devil. Therefore it is absolutely not a good idea to fool around with The Truth.

Those who pay no notice at all to their constantly falling in sin must get ready, because the verse we are going through here states that the wrath of The Lord will come against them. It will certainly not be a pleasant experience to face the divine anger being poured upon their lives. What is the point of changing the happiness of our Father for His wrath? Only those who do not weigh the consequences can do such a foolish thing, don’t you agree?

Undoubtedly, those people who make our Lord happy will enjoy His favour and, in doing so, everything will go well with them. Yet, those who get Him mad will experience how painful it is fooling around with such a serious matter, considering that under the wrath of God they will not be able to win any battle and even those tiny and insignificant troubles will surely become a huge burden for them.

In Christ, with love,
