Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine. 1 Timothy 5:17

The Kingdom of Heaven is a perfect organization, for its Author is God Himself. He does not neglect anything in terms of operation and planning. When the Lord calls someone to be part of his people, He gives the person eternal happiness. By ordering the members of the Body of Christ to be His ambassadors, He supplies all your needs.

The care of the Almighty in His work is great. There is nothing missing to those who accept His call, as Jesus showed by ordering His disciples to go to the cities where he was going, without any bags or sandals. Then, He asked them if anything was missing to them, and the answer was no (Luke 22:35). Those who serve the Lord should seek to live in a more profound contact with Him.

Back in the days of Paul, the priest – pastor of a church – whoever established well the government on that community would be considered worthy of double honor. This was the requirement. For example, to play well was one of the virtues of David who took Saul’s servants to point him to be the king’s musician. Whoever is not prepared to do the job masterfully may no longer be chosen or answered.

David had no idea that by playing his harp masterfully to praise the Lord, he was being an instrument in His hands for an important mission to be accomplished later on: freeing Saul of a tormenting demon. Likewise, those who are wise and specialize in what they do will be remembered when an opportunity arises. No doubt it was God who made them remember Jesse’s son.

Heavenly authorities know that a careful person that fulfills God’s plan receives the right to be served in double honor. This should serve as a guide to those who occupy any position. David was just a harp player, but God wanted him as the king of Israel. So, analyze the gift you received from the Most High and develop it. The day will come that you will be remembered more than anyone, in double honor.

It is divine decree: those who work in the Word and doctrine will be more valued than others. It does not matter if today you are just a servant or hold an important position in the hierarchy of man; be faithful to the Lord and fulfill your calling with close attention. If the divine plan includes you in greater works, you will be remembered and taken to occupy the position prepared for you by the Almighty.

Everything will work as the Lord determines, both in spiritual matters and worldly matters. The Father will never let injustice happen to you. On the other hand, He knows how to instruct those who are called to fulfill His will, especially those who serve Him by the Word and doctrine. Make the work of God your highest priority in life.
