25/07/2016 - THE BEGINNING OF A TRAGEDY

Now Israel remained in Acacia Grove, and the people began to commit harlotry with the women of Moab. Numbers 25:1

Balak, king of the Moabites, was evil with his cousins, the Israelites. Instead of supporting them because of all that Abraham had done for them, when he was to help his patriarch, he called on a prophet and paid him to curse the people of God. However, the prophet himself said that no spell works against Jacob. This teaches us to be careful with the people that only take money into consideration, for, sooner or later, something bad will happen to us.

The greedy are dangerous, because in order for them to gain something, they can devise plans that will cause us great loss, just like it happened in Baal of Peor, where 24 thousand people died. Those who give in to greed let a demon into their heart. Then, your actions will be harmful. How can someone put their life and anointing to cause damage to a chosen one of the Lord?

When leaving without cursing Israel, Balaam taught Balak a terrible secret that would leave the people without divine protection. Thus, the Moabites, who had very little if any moral conviction, invited the Israelites to worship their gods. This meeting was no different from any bacchanal and orgy because of all the transgressions that took place. This caused the Most High to anger Himself against His people.

By divine order, Moses ordered all the judges of Israel to hang those responsible for that shame that stained the holy nation (Numbers 25:4). Thus, the pain was much greater than the filthy pleasure they had. Be careful! God did not become somewhat modernized like some people preach. For Him, a sin is still a sin, and the wage of sin is death, the eternal separation from God (Romans 6:23).

Be careful not to get involved with the moabites, for, in the satanic art of error, they drive the unwary to madness. Afterwards, when the passion goes away, punishment comes, and it will be very big. It is written that nobody mocks God (Galatians 6:7), but, unfortunately, there are people weak in faith and with no fear who give in to the enemy in order to defy the Lord´s holiness. Now, the Almighty is a righteous Judge, and, sooner or later, there will be accountability.

There is a Heaven to be gained, that is why we must persevere until the very end, so that we are not disqualified. When we least expect, we will be called to the eternal House. If we are not wearing bridal spotless garments, we will be denied the entrance. Remain in what the Word says and don’t get involved with the foolish ones and those who despised the Truth.

Balaam slipped and let himself be contaminated by the fascination for money, bringing curse upon himself. Don’t do anything that prevents you from going up with the holy people when Jesus returns. Those who are not amongst the redeemed will march towards perdition and will not have another opportunity. Mercy!

In Christ, with love,

God of holiness! Why did Balak not feel joy when he saw his cousins coming to occupy the holy land? He forbid their passage through his land and, afterwards, he paid Balaam to curse those who couldn’t be cursed.

Why did Balaam insist with You to let him go and, even when he was rebuked by the donkey, he didn’t change his opinion? Why do many let themselves be carried away by things that cause the divine seed to be fruitless, instead of producing a good harvest?

Have mercy on those who are influenced by the sinful offers and by the world, and are missing out on Your reward. May we be truly faithful to the call You have given us and, even if temptation is very big, may You keep us in holiness.
