14/01/2011 - THE BEST SERVANT

Better is the one who is slighted but has a servant, than he who honors himself but lacks bread. (Proverbs 12:9)

Among the qualities that God wants people to see in His children, humility is one of the most important. Despite being widely used by the Father, we cannot think that this is because of our own merits, but rather because it is part of His plan. Boasting something we do in the name of the Lord is wrong because He is the one who does the work and all praise should be given to Him. Oftentimes, because we are instruments of the Lord, we think that we can do everything we want, but this is not true – a good dose of humility does a tremendous good.

We are clothed with power when the Holy Spirit descends upon us (Acts 1:8). That does not mean we have some anointed oil being spilled all the time around us, but rather that we were invested with authority and with it we have soldiers at our command. If we tell them \”go\”, they go; if we say \”come\”, they will come – as the Roman centurion told Jesus, and the Lord did not belie him (Matthew 8:5-13). But pay attention to this: we can only give our orders based on what the Word of God reveals to us.

When you are empowered by the Gospel to do something, you have to order, boldly, that the work is performed. That is what Joshua did when he ordered the sun to stand still over Gibeon, and the moon to stop in the valley of Aijalon (Joshua 10:12-15). After you take possession of what the Lord guarantees to be yours, confess your victory! Doing so is more than just to keep repeating what you have obtained, but acting as a victorious person.

Because the spiritual authority is granted by the Lord, there is no use in trying to be what you are not. It is not the height of the voice, the weeping or presents given to the Lord\’s work that make people to receive answers. We must prepare our hearts to serve the Father. To the true servants He gives the armor of power so that they can do His will.

If your prayers have not been answered, your reprimands have not worked, the enemy has attacked you from all sides and nothing seems to improve, you are probably suffering from spiritual \”malnutrition\”. An introspective examination will show if you need to go to the Court of God and confess your sins, which may have been committed through acts, words and thoughts. Make sure you are approved.

We must take over the revelations that the Lord gives us. Most definitely, those who despise them have little or no authority over evil, for disobeying God is heeding the devil. The enemy fears our obedience to the Father, because if we obey the Lord and keep His commandments, we will be loved by Him (John 14:21).

In Christ with love,
