I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4.8

The peace that is given by Jesus has the power to operate whatever is necessary in your life. It protects all your being, and even if Hell strives to drive you to practice what the Word forbids, it will not be successful. There is no way how the devil can oppress you or make you suffer, for he has been defeated by our God. The greatest strategy of the evil one is to leave people desperate with his threats, but the peace of Christ protects those who fear the Lord.

When we have the direction of the Most High, we can rest in Him. Those who do not fear God, although they call themselves Christians, become afflicted with the possibility of their dreams not coming true or of someone robbing what is theirs. Now, if such attitudes are taken according to the divine revelation and done in the Lord’s peace, why worry?

Gehazi, for example, became desperate when he saw the army of Syria surrounding Elisha’s house (2 Kings 6.15-17). The mission of those men was to arrest the prophet and take him to that nation. That was so because Elisha had previously discovered the plans of the king of Syria to attack Israel (v.12). However, this governor forgot that his plan was already known by the prophet, who would pray about the matter. Therefore, Elisha was resting in the peace of the Lord.

In the days of David, the enemy strived to lead him to despair, but since he was firmed on the divine promises, the Lord’s peace kept him safe. In our days, the devil uses the same strategy, and even though we are part of the people of God, many get desperate with the words of the evil one. Now, if you have the peace of Christ, there will be nothing outside of the divine will that will happen to you.

Whoever puts their trust in the Father should never accept the enemy’s threat as something real, for it is just a lie (Jeremiah 17.7; Jo 8.44). Every Christian should understand that he is already outside of the kingdom of darkness; therefore, the arrows sent by Satan cannot strike you (Col 1.13; Eph 6.16). Even if a thousand fall at your side and ten thousand to your right, you will not be shaken (Psalm 91.7). The true servants of the Lord are always surrounded by His glorious presence.

David discovered that his love for God – due to the fact that he kept the divine commandments – allowed the Almighty to keep him living in safety. If you have not noticed the importance of keeping the commandments, start doing so from now on. On the contrary, the enemy will attack you and you will have no divine protection. The Omnipotent can only love those who love Him (Jo 14.21).

The Lord wishes you to have prosperity, peace, health, and live filled with His goodness. Therefore, it is necessary to take hold of the Word’s declarations about you. Only those who keep the commandments will enjoy life with abundance. The divine order is to fulfill what the Lord has ordered you.
