That I may see the benefit of Your chosen ones

Psalm 106:5a

In the passage above, the Holy Scriptures speak of the benefit of God\’s chosen ones. We do benefit when we accept Jesus as our Savior for no one else promises so many blessings without us having to strive to deserve them. Many people teach that man is only purified after being reborn several times. So when they see a beggar, a leper or any other kind of suffering, they say that person is paying for the mistakes committed in previous incarnations. However, all these teachings have no biblical grounds; they could not be further from the truth because the Word says: \”And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment\” (Hebrews 9:27a).
Whoever used to lead a dissolute life but converted to God learned to live respectfully and in holiness. In some cases, he or she may even be called to become preachers of the Word, ministers of the everlasting God. What a privilege, isn’t it? Because he understood that blessing, the Psalmist prayed so he could see the benefits that the chosen ones derive. Likewise, we must ask the Father to let us see – to experience, to enjoy – such benefits.
Jesus taught that \”many are called but few are chosen\” (Matthew 22:14). What we do with the Word of God will dictate whether or not we will be chosen. There are those who do God\’s work in a reckless manner, wickedly, and let themselves be led by the devil into falling in the sins of the flesh – but what the Lord called him to do for Him is a priority. So, if you work for the Father in a careless way, you will suffer some kind of loss.
The chosen ones have several assets, both material and spiritual, and their full payment will be given on the Great Day. However, in our earthly journey, our attitudes may or may not give us the pleasure of enjoying these benefits. Therefore, we must learn a lesson: when we turn to the Gospel, we are approved. The Lord wants our participation in the benefits that He destined to His chosen ones. Thus, let us be wise and do
what He, through His Word, has given to us as a mission, so we are finding it profitable to be obedient.
The verb see, in the verse we are studying, means to participate. This shows us that we cannot stay out of the huge operation that the Father is doing in the world. He wants to use us in a tremendous way and will allow us to see the benefits that His chosen ones already have at their disposal. We must do what we were told and be one of the chosen ones.
My brother, do not forget that believing is the key to the participation in all the things that the Lord has. Jesus said to Martha – Lazarus’s sister – that “he who believes will see the glory of God” (John 11:40). So if you put all your trust in the Almighty and do what the Word commands, be prepared to see the benefits of His chosen ones!
In Christ with love,
