His soul was strongly attracted to Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the young woman and spoke kindly to the young woman. Genesis 34.3

No matter the intentions, when something begins outside the blessing of the Lord, it will continue to be so until the end. People say that God writes straight on crooked lines, but this is not true: The Most High writes straight on straight lines! Why act according to the words of the lost, when we will stand before the Almighty and give an account of what we have done wrong in this life? (Ecclesiastes 11.9; 12.14). Prepare yourself to live without sinning or deceiving.

Dinah must have been beautiful and could have had a good, unblemished future. However, she preferred to see the girls of the land and returned ashamed for not having kept herself. In fact, the young man clung to her, but since he did not know the God of all the earth and the Heavens, he let himself be carried away by the spirit of error, and they did something wrong that should not even have been initiated. Why didn’t he take care of himself, walking the good path?

As a pastor, I have helped many people who had a bad start in life. Thank God, I was able to lead some of them to the good path, because they listened to the Word of the Lord. In our days, even in schools, teachers suggest that girls try this and that, saying that it is “very good”. These unfortunate servants of evil do not know that one day they will be held accountable for stripping the purity of the young. Mercy!

Later, Shechem would discover that his action was tremendously wrong, and it would cost him his life. Why disregard the rules of good conduct if there will be punishment for transgressors? The penalty for wrong actions, such as scheming to seduce someone, will be terrible and will last for eternity. Those who have transgressed the commandments but have truly converted will have their sins erased and will be saved (Acts 2.38). Repent and be forgiven!

After seeing the stupidity he had done, Shechem loved the girl. The great mistake was to abuse the one who was consecrated to the Lord, thus, the prince could expect that something terrible would happen to him. Those who do not want to suffer need to leave evil and follow the good path, without abusing anyone, for God is the avenger of His children (1 Thessalonians 4.6). It is unwise to postpone your conversion. Receive the Lord Jesus now!

Shechem tried to speak affectionately to Dinah, but the damage of what had happened would accompany her forever. What would her father and brothers do? The moment he dishonored her and her family, the prince played the stupid man. Now, what was to be done? Be careful! Never become a defendant of God’s judgment. Don’t meddle in anyone’s marriage, because the demon that moves you to seek pleasure will lead you to eternal damnation!

How many people do not fear God or ask Him how to proceed when facing a temptation? Those who do not pray to the Lord are led by the forces of darkness, which lead them to the worst conclusions. Whoever serves the Truth is never dominated by lies and their works. Examine yourself and leave the wrong path!

In Christ, with love,

Lord, who sees all! What a tragedy! Whose fault is it, and who will pay for what happened? If Dinah had not been allowed to see the girls of that land, her fate would have been good and different. Only You can say who is to blame and give the right punishment!

We must flee from the appearance of evil, resisting temptations, so as not to give our honor to any demon. The example comes from Jesus, who refused the devil's offers whenever the devil showed Him an easier and unrighteous way!

We need to live at Your feet. Then we won't fall prey to the devil's tales. No doubt we will be harmed if we disregard Your law. Your testimony must be before us, so that we may live as You please!
