“Therefore command that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest His disciples come by night and steal Him away, and say to the people, ‘He has risen from the dead.’ So the last deception will be worse than the first.” (Matthew 27:64)

The lost know nothing about God. To them, the Lord’s servants do what they are used to doing: deceit. Since they don’t know what faith is, they only believe in what they can touch, they are always in search of the riches which will be left here after they die. On top of that, they don’t enjoy the peace that Christ can grant those who are faithful to Him and they don’t have the hope that once life is over they’ll be in Heaven throughout eternity.

Jesus had prophesied that He was going to die and that He’d be resurrected on the third day. The Jewish leaders, instead of sheltering the Lord, killed Him thus fulfilling the Word of our Master. Since they didn’t believe that Jesus would be raised on the third day, according to the Lord’s own Words, they made a request to the Roman authorities, their accomplices: “Command that tomb be made secure” The Jews feared that the body of the Son of God might be stolen and that the news of His resurrection would be spread out because that would be the fulfilment of what He had promised. I pity them because their attitude was reckless and thoroughly foolish. They weren’t able to see that every promise made by our God had been fulfilled – By the way, not even one of His promises has failed so far.

Pilates acquiesced to the request of the Jews and commanded that tomb be made secure in order to prevent Jesus’ body from being stolen. Yet, since those people didn’t believe in the Lord, they weren’t able to see the glory that was revealed on that tomb: First, The Spirit of God descended to the death zones and touched Christ who regained life and got out of His tomb amid the clamours of the angels who gave glory to God in the Highest. Poor men who were asleep!

Those who don’t believe in the Word of our Lord today are still sound asleep for they can’t see the greatest work of all times being performed worldwide: the transformation of lives which were devastated and the conversion to Christ of people who used to be involved with the devil.

Although many haven’t noticed the Most High operating the same miracles that were performed during the earthly ministry of Jesus, all of us, people who believe in Him, have been witnesses of those unparalleled wonders. Blessed be the Lord for allowing us to contemplate His wonderful operations!

There’s no mistake in God’s works but in the enemy’s. The wonders we have been witnessing is just a bit of what the Lord will do throughout the world. The demon-possessed are being delivered; the sick, healed and the sinners, saved. The divine work progresses at such majestic speed that – about this I’m absolutely sure – it has made our Father rejoice. My brethren, those who believe today can do the same things those in the past did. So, wake up if you’re asleep and come take part in our God’s visitation! Once you do that, the divine glory will shine over you!
