18/10/2010 - THE DEVIL IS AFRAID OF THIS

Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent; a fire shall devour before Him, and it shall be very tempestuous all around Him. (Psalm 50:3)

This statement of the Scriptures shows how terrified are the devil and his demons when our God is invoked. Every time we cry out to Him in faith, the Lord does not keep silent but comes to our aid. Then, before Him there is a devouring fire, which burns all the power of the enemy. Oh, if only preachers would believe it! The services would become exceedingly powerful and the people taking part in them would rejoice with all happiness.

I have proved in my ministry that the power of a service can be strong, medium or weak. It never depends on the Lord. If the preacher is not in sin or absent-minded, if he believes what the Word says and leads the service with faith, the Most High will make Himself present. We need not be afraid of embarrassment in case God "fails" to become present or to operate because this will never occur. If we are bold, we shall see Him working today, as He did in the apostolic days.

God is awesome in the assembly of saints. We must believe in His Word and trust that He will fulfill His promises. He does not get sad when we act by faith; on the contrary, He gets immensely happy for the opportunity we give Him to be our God.

The Lord rebuked Moses before the Red Sea, saying: Why are you crying out to me? (Exodus 14:15). God said to His servant that the children of Israel would see a work like they had never witnessed before – the Most High would be glorified in the defeat that the Pharaoh would suffer. However, the waters had to be struck. The Hebrews would go through the sea on dry ground, the Pharaoh would go after them through the sea, and he and his army would drown. All Moses had to do was to obey and the great sea would part.

Today, nothing pleases God the most than to see us acting under His direction. The Lord asks us to do something simple in order for Him to perform something great. A single action concerning one of His promises will trigger His action on behalf of His children. Before Him there is always a devouring fire which sets the enemy ablaze, consuming him completely. That’s why the devil works so hard in order for the servants of God to fall into sin, because then the Lord will not hear them. However, the adversary panics because he knows the above mentioned verse.

If you have been under a strong temptation to the point of believing that God will not hear you, you should know that this is an attempt made by the enemy to make you grow cold in faith and stop calling upon the Lord. So do not be fooled by the evil one: ask the Lord to forgive your sins and believe that He will hear you right now. Your request for help will cause the Most High to come to your aid with His consuming fire and His vengeance.

In Christ with love,
