Thus Jonathan spoke well of David to Saul his father, and said to him, “Let not the king sin against his servant, against David, because he has not sinned against you, and because his works have been very good toward you.

I Samuel 19:4

King Saul, possessed by jealousy, by envy and hatred, could not listen to the wise bit of counseling that Jonathan, his son, had given to him. When the devil has dominion over someone he makes them behave as if they were deaf, blind and ruthless. You must never allow hatred or the desire of vengeance dominate your heart because the justification of your being very hurt, and for that reason, you haven’t been able to forgive brings, implicitly, a revelation: the devil’s the one who’s driving your life.

However hard the wickedness you might have suffered was, you must think of what The Word of God states that will happen to those that do not forgive others: they will not be forgiven either. The reason why many deny forgiveness is the following: the devil does not want to lose them and, for that reason, he lures them into taking such attitude. Nevertheless, the truth is that forgiving will turn you into a more blessed person. Therefore, be wise as you offer forgiveness to those who have made you suffer.

Those who let an evil feeling get into their hearts lose their capacity to listen to the Lord. So, those people cannot live in peace because they spend all day long ruminating what other people had done to them. The devil, the one who used someone to hurt you, is now tempting you into denying forgiveness to that person used by him. The worst thing is that, if you give in, the enemy will keep you in his hands preventing you to be blessed.

Saul, on account of having lost the capacity of listening to the Highest One, as he received a divine command through Prophet Samuel, did not listen carefully to all he had been commanded to do and, thus, he ended up disobeying the Lord. On account of that he lost the kingdom. Likewise, you must not let the devil destroy your capacity of listening to the gentle and soft voice of our good God because, if you do not fulfill what has been commanded to you, you will not be able to please Him. Pay attention to the fact that many people are already unable to listen to Him.

The best thing is indeed to be guided by the Holy Spirit, The One who will always lead you into triumph. For having allowed evil to fill his heart with hatred, Saul did not realize that David’s deeds were very good towards him just like Jonathan had pointed out. Those who do not listen to God might die early because the tree that does not bare fruit or stops producing it will be cut off. So, keep away from any sin because deep calls unto deep (Psalm 42:7) and, this way, your life will become uncontrolled.

In Christ, with love,
