“But I know that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.” (Romans 15: 29)
We must be careful to be spiritually healthy, full of the plenitude of the blessing; this will be good for everybody, including us. So, let’s make the divine anointing overflow in us.
As we read the biblical passage above we can see that the apostle Paul prepared to be in the plenitude of the blessing of Christ when he was on his way to meet his Roman brothers. It would be wonderful if those who came up to us had the same purpose! Unfortunately, we live in a world full of so many bad things which often contaminate us, that the visit of someone who holds all of the Heavenly blessings would surely do us so good!
Either those who are saved or the lost need someone who lives in the plenitude of the dispensation of Christ. We’re all tempted, even the holiest ones. Yet, a word we hear from someone who breathes the presence of our Lord will surely pull us up from the pit or take us away from the fall. On top of that, those who are sick, full of trouble or tempted to leave The Way will have their eyes opened and they’ll stand firm in their faith.
Being members of the Body of Christ (I Corinthians 12:12 – 31), we’re also members of each other. So, we’ll be greatly harmed if anyone falls; yet, we’ll make a huge profit if the fallen lifts up in faith. Those who are dull today can become a blessing for us tomorrow.
It is not right to act like Cain, who said to the Lord that it wasn’t his duty to guard, Abel, his brother (Genesis 4: 9). We mustn’t forget that we were put in the Kingdom of the Lord to serve Him. We’re committing a big error when we spend the whole day saying “Halleluiahs”, for instance, thinking that that’s serving God. We’re truly serving the Lord when we abide by His commands. Our Master told His disciples they should feed those who were with Him because they hadn’t eaten anything by that point. My brother, there’s a whole world out there to eat from the Bread of Life.
We, Christians, fall when the divine power isn’t at our disposal; yet, we’ll help our brothers not to be a negative witness of the virtue of Jesus when we’re filled up with the plenitude of the blessing. After all, all of us and the other saved ones are living letters written by the Lord which will be read by the lost so that they’ll know the will of God for them (II Corinthians 3:3).
My brother, whoever you might be, don’t live your life without overflowing the anointing of the Lord; either one of your dearest ones or you might need the
divine assistance. God’s help doesn’t come in a mystical manner; it comes through His children who live in His presence and enjoy all of His gifts.
In Christ, with love,
R. R. Soares
