And they killed Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah from Shechem’s house, and went out. Genesis 34.26

After they had killed all the men in the city, Jacob’s sons sought out the author of the wickedness against Dinah and killed him. They also killed Hamor, the negotiating father; this shows us the horrible fate those used by the devil will receive for having refused to accept Jesus as Savior: eternal death.  The Day of the Lord will be a time of darkness and suffering for the person who now rejects the invitation to be saved and participate in eternal life in Heaven.

The purpose of those vengeful men was to erase the memory of what was done against their sister. Therefore, those who were not the seed of Jacob perished. Now, when Christ returns, those who do not have their names written in the Book of Life will not go up with the Master to the marriage supper of the Lamb. The lost will be sent to the lake of fire and brimstone, which will be the eternal destiny of those who refused salvation. They will never get out of eternal punishment!

In Hamor’s conversation with the men of the city, which was revealed later, he proposed that his people agree to be circumcised. Then those men would have Jacob and his family and take possession of all that belonged to Abraham’s son. However, in the covenant with the patriarch, God said that whoever cursed him would be cursed (Genesis 12.3). Do not abuse anyone, especially the Lord’s people!

Until then, it was not known that Dinah was in the prince’s house. The brothers went to where she was and took her. A great confusion took place in that region, with the women mourning the death of their husbands, brothers and adult sons! Someone’s sin produced such chaos in those who sympathized with Hamor and allowed themselves to be circumcised and lost their lives. It was a war, and if some were left alive, they would try to avenge their dead.

Some say that the Lord is so good that on Judgment Day He will forgive those who refuse to repent. No, that will not happen. The Master said: So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground: both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive. (Genesis 7.23; Luke 17.26-29).

There will be no escape, nor second chance, for those who refused to serve God. People, when they witness Jesus returning in His glory, will do everything to be accepted, but they won’t be: So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 13.49,50).

Why put off your decision until tomorrow? If you want to live with Jesus, the time to be saved is today. Only those who receive Him as their Savior will be redeemed:  But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name (John 1.12). God is watching your heart to see what your attitude will be!

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares

Lord, our Redeemer! We need to seek You and learn Your ways. Judgment is at hand, when there will be no love, mercy, or forgiveness. Every human being needs to be saved by You!

Help us in the mission You have given us: to preach the Good News to the world, so that all people may be redeemed. Give us the ability to tell everyone what You have prepared for those who will listen to Your reasons. Rescue the lost!

Without Your effective participation, we will get nowhere. But, with Your anointing, we will avoid the condemnation of many to the lake of fire and brimstone. Your love, Your grace and mercy will get everyone to Heaven if they obey You!
