They took their sheep, their oxen, and their donkeys, what was in the city and what was in the field…  Genesis 34.28

Why did the Hivite prince enter where he could never have laid his hand, defiling Dinah, Jacob’s daughter? He messed with a house of wasps, with the greatest warriors in the world, who never lost a battle. Then, Hamor and his son devised a plan for the Lord’s inheritance to fall into their hands. However, God acted and turned the tables, and their eyes saw the unimaginable. Be careful not to afflict a saved one!

We are often oppressed in order to be exalted: He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor. For the foundations of the earth are the LORD’s;on them he has set the world. (1 Samuel 2.8). We are also cast down in order to be glorified. Nothing can separate us from the One who is our Rock and our Strength. With Him we will do great things!

The Almighty wants to see us singing this song: We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body (2 Corinthians 4.8-10). Overcome what comes against you!

The Israelites took the wealth of the Hivites, since they had won the war. On Jacob’s side, there was no loss. They believed in the promises of the Lord to their forefathers. You could say they had a harvest worth many years of work and for that – they praised the Creator. Today, God’s children only lose any battle if faith in God is no longer applied. We have the Most High watching over us constantly!

The spoil was greater than they could foresee or desire. Likewise, the power given to the Christian will make him and do for him whatever he needs. However, if you remain silent and let the enemy humiliate you, nothing will be done to you. Regardless of who you are or the study you received, take hold of the revelation of the Word and live as the king that Jesus made you to be for the God and Father. The saved is part of the divine nature!

What the Hivites possessed of good in the city or in the field was taken and carried away by the Israelites. Now, there was nothing left to complain about. Because of the mistakes of their children, the Hivites lost everything. Get ready to be visited by the Lord and receive the command to be a blessing. God made us in His image and likeness, to have of everything that He possesses. With wisdom and discernment, we will see better days. Pray and live!

Those who arrived decently would not be dishonored by anyone. Israel bought the piece of land where they settled, but the prince, Hamor’s son, set out to humiliate Dinah, then kept her in his house. Her brothers would never accept this. So, they prepared for battle and won. Then, they praised the Lord!
