17/04/2017 - THE HIGH PRICE OF DISIOBEDIENCE

Are they not finding and dividing the spoil: To every man a girl or two; For Sisera, plunder of dyed garments, Plunder of garments embroidered and dyed, Two pieces of dyed embroidery for the neck of the looter? Judges 5:30

The person who strays from the truth doesn’t imagine the evil caused to one’s self, one’s family and to all of humanity. Israel, for example discovered it was not worthwhile to stray from God. Satan, when he realized that those people obeyed him, sent the Canaanites, who turned that land that flowed with milk and honey into complete chaos. In no time, the Israelites began to see that bondage under the reigns of the enemy was the exact opposite of serving the Lord.

Israel transgressed several times and each time they saw the price of rebellion; however, they always would be led into temptation and again pay a high price. Many Christians are in this mode and what is worse: they are enjoying themselves. The devil has deluded them with false pleasures and later on, when they least expect it, they will be presented with the price to pay. There is only holy pleasure free from the costs and consequences when the divine commandments are known, held and obeyed.

Jabin, the King of Canaan did not invade the territory of the people of God, by happenstance. He was an envoy from Hell to shame, destroy and dismantle the dreams of those who were very special to the Most High. With the same purpose, Hades has sent diseases, illnesses and turmoil to afflict the people who, although they are saved, allow themselves to fall for the false promises of the devil. If this be your case, return to the Lord while there is time, before your announced destruction. Return now!

Sisera commanded the perverted Canaanites soldiers that punished the chosen people with nine hundred iron chariots. As a reward for their loyalty each one could take one or two damsels for any purpose they wished. How were these girls’ families in witnessing this tragedy and how did the daughters of the Lord feel as they saw their hopes and dreams of marriage and raising a holy family shattered?

That captain seemed fond of the opposites of things as he liked colorful craftwork and similarities and felt no restraint or remorse in ordering the worst atrocities among the Israelites. Even his mother would boast of what the Canaanite solders did with the Israelite daughters and of the things that her son took for himself. But there came the day she became worried for he was late in returning home and he never did comeback.

When Deborah became judge she sought the Most High and started to lead the people into obedience to God. Therefore, He told her he had chosen Barak to lead the resistance to expel the Canaanites.  Return to your place in Christ, for then you will see what God planned in your favor. Those who belong to the Lord, who return to Him in sincere repentance, will see He is a Father with a good heart.

A sad part of Israel’s history ended this way as yours will too as you repent and are faithful to the All-Mighty. Decide now, since God’s eyes are watching over your life. He sees your heart. Repent!

In Christ, with Love,

God of Israel! That is how You were known in the past; since You always helped Jacob when he was in need. Your people of those times always when afflicted would run to meet You and by this they won deliverance. Today, You do the same with Your servants.

The Israelites saw the price of evil when they abandoned You because whenever this happened, the enemy would wreak havoc on them. The hopes and dreams of the Israelite daughters and their families were always dashed in the hands of the Canaanite soldiers.

Sisera’s mother sang this as if something beautiful.  The devil the father of the wicked who abuse the innocents – also rejoices with their suffering and that of their families. You are a Righteous and True God, therefore we ask You: deliver those who pray to You now. Amen!
