“But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.” (Luke 8:21)
God has kept the greatest glory for His children: the duty of doing His work. Those who give His children even only one glass of water will never lose their reward. He or she who is at the divine service and does what is good in the sight of the Lord is certainly respected by the spiritual authorities in the Heavens, by the angels and by demons as well. Evil spirits know very well those who let themselves be used by the Most High and they fear that they will open their mouth to speak in the Name of Jesus.
Satan’s aware that he lost all his capacity to hit us the moment we decided to convert to the Gospel; yet, he can still tempt us. So, he does all he can to drift us away from the divine plan by using his spectacular offers. We need to be watchful in order not to give in even an ounce to his desires since those who heed him will undoubtedly lose their communion with God. We’re not only tempted by the devil with sins such as prostitution, adultery, etc., but also with outlandish financial offers, family problems and other kinds of fancy strategies.
Many Christians make the same mistake: they’re only hearers of the Word of God. They enjoy hearing the Lord’s voice. Some are even touched to the point of crying with God’s moving; yet, they don’t go beyond that. My brethren, we must be doers of what the Word of God shows us; after all, the Lord never gives us any revelation devoid of purpose. Everything He tells us is of the utmost importance and it is part of His great plan for mankind. A simple healing is something of great value to increase the faith of those who hear about it. So, don’t put it off. Whenever you listen to His voice and understand through the Word that what you hear is God’s will for your life, you must take possession of it at once; His power is available to make what we believe in and what we ordain according to His revelations come true. His power is ready to perform what we believe and determine.
Who wouldn’t like to become a member of the Lord’s family? Everybody would, wouldn’t they? That’s possible! All you have to do is to heed the Word of God and to put His will into practice according to the revelation you received. When you decide to put into practice what you’ve been told, a warning is sent to the spiritual world saying that you belong to God’s family. Do you think the Lord would stand still if any one of His children were in danger?
There’s no greater reward than being a member of the people of God. That privilege’s available for all those who have the necessary faith to carry out His work. I’m absolutely certain that He isn’t a bad boss at all, that’s precisely the reason why He won’t ignore us in the hereafter like the worldly employers usually do.
