“Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.” (I Corinthians 7:2)
Prostitution exists since Adam’s fall, when the devil came into the world. It is more widely practiced in some parts of the world, but it exists everywhere. In the verse mentioned above, the Apostle Paul advises everyone to get married. In fact, the Lord had already established that man should leave his father and mother to be joined with a woman (Mark 10:7). Those who haven’t been granted the divine gift of remaining single – like the 144 thousand mentioned in the Scriptures – are expected to marry.
So, the wisest thing for a single person to do is to look for his or her soul mate and be one with him/her by marriage. Nobody commits a sin by getting married as long as it’s blessed by the Lord. Those who despise that biblical commandment will surely have tribulation in the flesh. To say that keeping a household has become too expensive nowadays so that’s the reason why people choose to remain single is a lame excuse because when we’re obedient to His Word, God provides all the things we need. Another type of excuse people give to avoid any commitment is to say that there are people whose marriages were not successful. The best thing to do is to obey the Lord.
Marriage’s an institution established by God. He’s the One who created man and woman and He said we’re to be fruitful and multiply. He said that marriage is a mystery in which two people become one flesh (Mark 10:8). Woe to those who intrude into a couple’s relationship! Adulterers will certainly pay a high price! An unfaithful spouse will repent forever and then it’ll be too late (Proverbs 6:32-35).
Married couples must be aware of the fact that they can’t neglect each other. The sentence “I don’t like that” doesn’t suit a married couple. Now, if any spouse has any health problem, he or she must see a physician because sexual abstinence in marriage is prohibited
by the Word of God except when agreed by both spouses only for a short while to consecrate to prayer (I Corinthians 7:5).
All those things banned by the Word of God mustn’t be practiced by those who serve the Lord. When one of the spouses wishes to do something banned by the Scriptures, the other one must pray and then have a conversation with him or her. The Bible states that the marital bed is undefiled (Hebrews 13:4) – “sexual intercourse” is the term used in the original version. So, the act practiced by our parents to bring us into light wasn’t sinful at all, but holy and worthy of all glory.
Adultery is not allowed according to the Word of God – sex outside of marriage, whether it is with another married person or a single one. Fornication is another practice condemned by the Scriptures – sex among single people, widows, people who are separated or divorced. Both adulterers and fornicators won’t inherit the Kingdom of God but will go through the second death (Revelation 21:8). Now, those who have same sex sexual intimacy will suffer eternal condemnation (I Corinthians 6:10).
My brethren, do get married and behave according to the biblical principles because prostitution corrupts and makes people go sexually insane.
In Christ, with love,
R. R. Soares
