Save me, O God, by Your name, and vindicate me by Your strength. (Psalm 54:1)

When David found out what the name of God could do for him, he cried out for the greatest of all blessings – salvation. Those who discover how much that name, used with faith, can help them become a collector of victories overnight. After all, the Lord’s name makes the beings of the three worlds bow their knees before His majesty (Philippians 2:9-11).

Salvation is the best and greatest of all blessings because not only does it save our soul, but it also redeems us from the mistakes we make. Without it, we remain slaves to sin, in spite of being religious. There is nothing more debasing than someone calling himself godly but living under the dominion of iniquity. When we reach salvation – even being in the midst of a crooked, lying and perverse generation – it gives us dignity and prevents the devil from laying his dirty hands on us and on our work. Moreover, it gives us honor and promotion, both in the presence of God and men. Whoever has salvation leads a carefree life and has an assured and blessed place in eternity.

Every man’s soul senses the eternal danger that surrounds them. So, without the knowledge of the Scriptures, man is prone to practicing rituals, inventing new creeds and creating a lot of things which he deems necessary to obtain peace and safety after his death. Nevertheless, our deeds, prayers and wishes, however well intentioned, will never be able to redeem our souls. Only the gift of salvation, that our God gives us freely in Christ, has the power to do so.

When we understand the ease of being saved from sin, from eternal death and from the power of Satan, not only are we saved but also the power of God comes to dwell in us when are baptized in the Holy Spirit. So when we pray we move heaven and earth, bringing this power to work in our favor. Any Christian is able to become a winner; it is a matter of believing in what the Word promises.

When we use the Name of Jesus with faith, God makes justice and our prayers are then answered. Our privileges in Christ are real and should not be wasted. We have more power available to us than the enemy has to attack us (I John 4:4). In any adverse situation, do not shiver or despair, but use the authority of the Name of Jesus and let the power of the Almighty act on your behalf. The Lord shall do great things for you!

With the Name of Jesus, you will reach salvation from sin and the solution to your problems and through the power of God you will be vindicated. So do not waste such privileges!

In Christ with love,

R. R. Soares
