Therefore they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, who was bearing witness to the word of His grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

Acts 14: 3

Paul’s and Barnaba’s attitude in Iconium is worth being imitated by all those who fear The Lord, our God. They went into the synagogue together and they were greatly used by God as they preached The Word that a multitude, made both of Jews and Greeks, got converted to The Gospel. That example must be always followed by all of us considering that if we have The Truth and if we are anointed by The Holy Spirit, what is the use for us to hesitate in preaching, I mean without conviction?

The devil, disliking Paul’s and Barnarba’s attitude, made those Jews who were not believers to stir things up and to get in the nerves of the gentiles against those apostles by causing the latter to lose heart. Now, we must not be afraid of those who upset the spirits of the lost ones for the sake of the Message being preached by us. God will surely give us good words which will draw people’s attention to us and then they will see that we really have that very thing they need the most.

Those apostles did not run away in fear for what could have happened to them, but on the contrary, they stayed there for quite some time. There is no reason for us to run from those threats imposed on us considering that if we have to go through suffering because of the work that will be a great favour God will be doing to us. It is clear that we must not be offensive to any kind of faith, but our duty here is to only preach The Word which causes the real faith to set in the hearts of those who listen to IT.

The secret of those men was to speak boldly about The Lord. That kind of preaching is always appealing to those who fear God. There is no other way to speak about our Father. Those who have cancer need to learn that The Almighty can heal them; that sinners can be saved from sin by The Lord; that there is deliverance in Christ Jesus for those who deal with witchcraft. Therefore, don’t be shy as you speak about the divine love. Stand firm and fearlessly because that is the way The Most High will be using you.

God Himself gave witness to The Word of His Grace by allowing, through the hands of His servants, signs and wonders to take place. Today, when we are doing the divine work according to His command, The Lord Himself is also making us company to give witness of His Word. If we do the work in a different way we will not have Him by our side.

That is how God wants to see His servants nowadays as well. He feels pleasure in seeing His people behaving just like Jesus did in His days. He told us to do His work just like He had done it then (John 14: 12). Those who are obedient to The Lord have His hand upon their witness. Therefore, do not make up anything out of the blue, but only fulfil what you have been told to.

There is nothing which can replace The Gospel when the power of The Holy Spirit is shown off. Even the priests of the other religions get converted when the special envoys of God do the work in the power of The Holy Spirit. The Lord is missing seeing His servants taking attitudes similar to those of the first apostles in their time.
