21/06/2022 - THE KING OF KINGS WILL COME

In the second year of King Darius, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying  Haggai 1:1

The world was going through great changes. Babylon was getting smaller and smaller and Cyrus, the Persian, was getting bigger. With the death of Nebuchadnezzar, the government became weak, and Isaiah had prophesied, more than a century before, that God loved Israel: All of you, assemble yourselves, and hear! Who among them has declared these things? The Lord loves him; He shall do His pleasure on Babylon, and His arm shall be against the Chaldeans (Isaiah 48:14). The Most High is tremendous!

Upon Cyrus’ death, his son Cambyses succeeded him and was a tyrant. His only good achievement was to add Egypt to the Persian Empire. History tells that he committed suicide. Thus, there was a doubt as to who would be the successor, and Darius of Media took over the Persian kingdom and put an end to the insurrections that occurred upon the death of Cyrus’ son. In the second year of this new king, now the Medo-Persian Empire, came the Word of the Lord through the prophet Haggai. God is faithful!

World empires have always existed and will always exist until the coming of the Lord. Each one of them, in its time, considers itself the greatest, but in a short time, becomes nothing. It will be this way until the day when the Most High puts an end to the madness of men, who, out of vanity, think they have the right to do whatever they want. Poor mortals! Their days will pass away just as their predecessors did. Then, as they stand before the King of eternity, they will despair!

Haggai gave details of dates, showing that things occurred by the working of God’s hand. The greed of many is always to have power over people. Of course, they use very different terms to present themselves to the world. But behind these “immortals” is the one who has been a liar since the beginning, on whom these “enlightened ones” are based. Christ will return and find the man of sin ruling the world, but He will kill him with the breath of His mouth! (2 Thessalonians 2:8).

We can never forget that the Lord is the Creator, so He has the power of decision over the events in the world. Our brothers and sisters who have fallen victim to the spirit of “power” will be avenged at the return of the Son of God. Those who laugh at the Word of God will surely beg for mercy, when they behold the great glory of the Lord of eternity. However, many will conclude that they were wrong too late.

The saved will stand to see the Master show the True and the false. The weapons that men think to use against Him are like children’s toys, powerless against the King of kings and Lord of lords. Never be disheartened! Though the threats and sanctions of these provisional commanders overwhelm you, the Day of the Lord’s return is approaching at a speed millions of times faster than light. Pray!

Prepare yourself for that day, and whatever happens, believe that the dictator who works evil against your life is just one more to join all those from the past, to cry for eternity in the lake of fire and brimstone. Jesus will bring the rich reward for the faithful (Revelation 22:12).
