Cease listening to instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge. Proverbs 19:27

When we are instructed about something, we must understand that the purpose is so that we are not defeated by the enemy. However, we are tempted to think that when we are rescued, it is because we are good. This is not what the Lord says in Scriptures. He says that the instruction comes for us to keep the words of knowledge. Thus, if we have been saved, the Most High has given us what we need to obey Him until the end of our journey.

The instruction that leads us to victory is a warning for us not to stray from the divine words. It is an extra help from God. There is a reason why the Word warns us: the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). We must resist the enemy, using the power of the Lord in the Name of Jesus. Then, the devil will flee from our presence (James 4:7).

Keeping the words of knowledge is a direct order from God. Whoever does not obey this will see terrible things happening. Whoever walks away from the Light falls in darkness and becomes vulnerable to the devil’s attacks. The Biblical declarations provide enlightenment and give you power and protection. It is not wise to despise what is good by surrendering yourself to evil.

It does not matter how you perceive the instruction that you receive. It may be one of the last things that God uses to open your eyes – an act of mercy. As He sees you about to be attacked by the devil, the Lord helps you in a special way. If you continued despising His wisdom, you would have been destroyed. It does not exist for the purpose of justifying your wrongdoing, but of guiding you to wisdom!

Walking away from the Truth is not always something we decide or schedule to do. It happens as we are influenced by the devil; therefore, we must reject it. Whoever does not act according to the Word, falls in sin. Besides providing well-being, the instruction of the Most High is a warning for us to return to our first love. If you follow on the path of darkness, you will go through tribulations and pains. The way out is to walk away from the tortuous paths.

Because of the Lord’s compassion, He warns us about the dangers around us. The fascination of riches, the cares of life and worldly ambitions make the Word unfruitful (Mark 4:19). If these three things are not rejected, they will continue tempting us and dragging us away from His presence. Thus, there will be a time in which we will succumb and lose the battles. There are many saved ones who cannot resist any longer to temptations. 

Every time that you receive a warning from God, examine your heart. Be conscious of your mistake, bow at His feet, confess your sins and accept His infinite mercy. Thus, you will live as in the days that you were saved, when everything went well and the Father operated wonders in your favor. The Lord is the same (Hebrews 13:8); therefore, come back to Him!
