20/09/2011 - THE LORD AS INHERITANCE, CUP AND MAINTAINER

O LORD, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot.

Psalm 16:5

The damage we had with Adam\’s sin was enormous. Besides having to deal with the greatest consequence of disobedience, – the eternal perdition – we lost the authority that had been granted to us. As a result, Satan came to enslave us, and then all kinds of suffering came upon mankind. However, the divine plan of redemption was perfect in that not only did it provide the salvation of our souls, but also prevented the enemy from oppressing us during our journey on earth.

Upon the death of Jesus, we were freed from all misery and suffering. Now, as partakers of the Kingdom of God, we recover all that was lost with the fall of man. In other words, we have a legacy that will make us rich, powerful and successful in everything; as a matter of fact, we are co-heirs with Jesus (Romans 8:17). That does not mean we will divide the inheritance in portions but, as adopted children, we will take part of the things Christ has as the begotten Son.

Rejoice, children of God, for there is an inheritance in store for us. Those who dare believe what the Scriptures proclaim will surely live better than those who do not believe in the revelation. Jesus taught that the difference is to believe and that those who believe will see the glory of God (John 11:40).

The best of all is that the Lord puts himself as a portion of that heritage since it is in Him that we will accomplish ourselves, supply our needs and move forward to conquer what belongs to us. Because He is our portion, we will never be disappointed. On the contrary: our life will improve and the enemy will not steal from us again. Our inheritance is in the Almighty, He is our portion!

He is our cup. In Him there will never be poison or anything that may cause damage to us. No cup offered by man alone can help us do

God\’s work, nor are the various religions able to bring us success or peace. Our cup is God himself, who will never fail us. He has the water of life (Revelation 21:6), the wine that purifies and the Spirit that strengthens.

Besides all the things that God is for us, He declares that He is the Maintainer of our lot. The enemy will never be able to diminish it because he would have to get over the Lord, who is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29). Our success is guaranteed, it was drafted in the blood of Jesus, and therefore we do not need to fear or consider ourselves unable to do the work assigned to us. No matter what happens, do not hesitate to rely on the fact that there will always be light and success in your way because it is God who sustains you.
