Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me.

Psalm 138:7

Being a servant of God does not mean you will not face problems; however, for any difficulties that arise in this life there will always be a remedy available. Now, aid is not automatic: it is found in the Word of God and comes into operation as soon as we listen to what the Lord says. He who reads the Bible and always pays attention to what is written in it, believing in what is revealed, becomes victorious over all the forces of evil. In contrast, the unmindful listener will not experience the fulfillment of what was promised to him.

David’s declaration in this Psalm shows that no one is specially privileged because despite being a man after God\’s own heart he went through times of trouble. Nevertheless, the King was sure that he would not be helpless when this happened. Bad times come in everyone\’s life: saints and sinners, preachers and lay people, men and women. Being in distress is so bad that if we could we would do whatever it takes to avoid such situation.

The good thing is that the Lord promises to revive us. When we are touched by God our spirit is encouraged and we are invigorated. So, when we get to know the revelation of the Word the divine inspiration comes and in the blink of an eye our inner self is strengthened. By extension, and without intending to corrupt the Word, we can state that God revives the ailing body; He revives the mind that can no longer see a way out as well as any other part of our being.

With vivification, the hand of the Most High – which is His entire power – is stretched against the wrath of our enemies; therefore he who causes us harm will be in great trouble. Jesus said that He cast out demons with the finger of God (Luke 11:20). So when you are revived, rest in the divine promise because the Lord will take care of everything.

No demon will ever be able to rise against the right hand of the Almighty because when it enters into operation it causes the enemy’s forces to beat a retreat desperately. The Lord promised to take us by His right hand and, therefore, he who is now in anguish or being afflicted by some temptation can rise up and give orders in the name of Jesus. So, whatever the disease that affects you it will not stand before the powerful action that God has begun to do in your favor.

Why be sad thinking that you cannot succeed in life? There is no reason for you to be overcome by the evil one; after all you have the divine promise now. The Lord is watching your actions, so be wise and act like a winner. Your deliverance depends only on your decision.
