20/01/2012 - THE LORD IS NOT OBLIVIOUS TO OUR UNTHANKFULNESS

For forty years I was grieved with that generation, and said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts, and they do not know My ways.’ So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’

Psalm 95:10-11

For 40 years the Israelites caused the Lord to lose all the delight He had in them. They, who were called to be a special people – a people that was delivered from slavery in Egypt with a mighty hand, on which occasion God did many wonders such as parting the sea for them to cross without wetting their feet, taking water from the rock and sending the manna every day – became the object of disgust to the eternal God. Be careful so as not to arouse the same kind of feeling in the Lord. The plan of salvation was a very well designed and executed plan, so do not let sin keep you away from the Lord.

The first time they doubted the Word of God, the forces of hell attacked them. Since then, a deep called unto another deep (Psalm 42:7). Even food seasoning was used by the enemy to provoke the Most High to anger (Numbers 11:5). They acted like spoiled children and as result they were no longer the pleasure of the Lord. How many people have lost their first love? In the beginning they and God were in love. Today they no longer take pleasure in praying, they do not go to God’s house as often as before and neither do they minister the Word to the lost.

Whatever happens, do not let the devil of doubt assault you because God has a wonderful plan for your life. Be obedient to what the Word tells you and flee from temptation because the evil spirits are working tirelessly to get you out of the divine presence. The intention of the devil is to steal your salvation, afflict you with all kinds of problems and use you in his dirty purposes. But the Lord\’s plan is to make His glory shine in your life. So be the pleasure of the One who should never be contradicted.

The hearts of the Israelites had departed from the truth. When someone reaches this point he or she does not delight in holiness anymore; they do not have any qualms in acting like the lost ones do and, which is worse, they consider themselves to be exceptions when it comes to the commandments that forbid us from sinning. Thus, shame, decency and other feelings of holiness abandon them. If this has been happening to you, rush back to God’s arms.

Do not be like those who chose to believe in Satan\’s lies rather than in the ways paved by the Lord in their hearts. It is not good to frustrate the One who has the power to cause both body and soul to perish in hell. If you have had wrongful thoughts, done despicable things and the fear of the Lord does not burn in your heart as before, it is a sign that you have moved away from Him. Open your heart right now and confess your sin. Just as the sentence came to the Israelite rebels, it will also come upon those who remain in error and will be quite unpleasant to all who despise the wondrous future that awaits them. Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4 – NKJV).
