“By this I know that You are well pleased with me, because my enemy does not triumph over me.” (Psalm 41:11)
There are some tips in the Word of God that show us how to fully enjoy life with Christ. Those who do not pay attention to what the Gospel says or do not pay attention to what is written in the Word always live under a satisfactory spiritual level, deprived of power and without the capacity to face and overcome evil forces. Yet, those who keep an eye out and heed the teachings of the Master learn the good lesson and becomes victorious in all areas of life. We can tell the true disciples of Jesus from those who are not by the way they live their lives. Those who have communion with the Lord speak and act differently from those that neither have the commandments nor fulfil them.
One of those tips is to acknowledge that God is really well pleased with us – He benefits and protects us. My friend, our God is sentimental because He rejoices; He rages, He suffers and He also weeps. Wasn’t it exactly what Jesus did next to the tomb of Lazarus? (John 11:35). He benefits those that belong to Him and do His perfect and sweet will, which means that apart from the promises recorded in the Scriptures, the Lord does something more for those who make Him happy.
Oftentimes the enemy thinks he is entitled to oppress us when we depart a little from the Way. When that happens we become unhappy and do not seek the Lord the way we should. At that point a struggle starts and once we feel we are away from the divine plan, we repent and seek the divine favor. Then, the Spirit of God drives us to confessing our errors by making us feel ashamed and saddened. Upon our request for forgiveness God does not only forgive us but He also cleanses us from all iniquity. In a battle He makes us strong and with His help we achieve victory.
Be honest and examine yourself. How many times has the devil made you fall for a sin or in a trap? You are like any other person. Undoubtedly you should never fall, but who can ever say that they have never slipped or gone astray a little from the Way? That must not keep you away from the divine plan because the promise of the Lord is that, if you confess your sins He is faithful and righteous to forgive your sins and to cleanse you from all iniquity (I John 1:9). The fact that the Lord made that promise means that He puts Himself at your disposal for you not to fall any longer. Yet, in case you sin you must address the Lord and open up your heart to receive forgiveness and the power coverage which will make you victorious.
The same way that Jesus was One with the Father we can also be one with the Trinity – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Those who get involved with God become one with Him. So, we will see that in all battles He will benefit us and the enemy will not oppress us any longer.
