Deborah received the revelation of the Lord’s complete strategy to defeat the wicked Jabin, king of Canaan. Therefore, she was insulted with Barak’s attitude of fear and sent for him. However, she saw that the matter was delicate, for he was the right man to carry out that assignment. When she saw that his heart was afraid, she told him the whole plan, which, by the way, he already knew (Judges 4:4-6). The chosen servant had only one option: to believe. If he didn’t, he would lose his great reward.
As for Jabin, he could have meditated on what God had done to bring Israel out of Egypt and proposed peace with Israel. However, he did not surrender to God’s will and was defeated. Even today, similar struggles are going on all over the Earth, and unfortunately, many will pay with the eternal damnation of their souls. Pride will not let them yield before the Creator of the Universe and of their lives. Poor souls!
Surely, God insisted by speaking to Jabin’s heart and showed him how wrong he had been to oppress the people of the Covenant. His desire for easy profits and to be called lord and chief by the other monarchs led him to act according to the devil’s desire. Why is it that many people will never surrender to the Truth and will burn for eternity in the lake of fire and brimstone? This is not a joke or a false threat, but the revelation of the lost state of mankind. Pray!
Divine mercy was the cause that he was not destroyed, but since he was steadfast in his mad purpose to shame the Lord, he did not want to acknowledge His sovereignty. The time came when he had nothing left to defend himself and he fell. Eternal torment awaits those who want to confront God. No doubt these need those who have the ministry of intercession, for they are already on their way to eternal suffering. Mercy!
For centuries, throughout the world, the evil one has been leading people to go beyond what they should, making decisions just like the king of Canaan – but when the Lord’s patience runs out and He puts a stop to it, they will despair that they have trusted in the wind, in useless things, and they will realize that they have acted wrongly. Examine yourself now and see how you have been acting. Turn to the Lord, and He will forgive you (Isaiah 55:7).
The Most High´s plan was good and perfect in every way. With little effort, Barak and the ten thousand men who went on foot to face the 900 chariots and the great army of Sisera proved that only the Lord is God! These chariots were swept away by the waters of the stream of Kishon. The strength of that ruler who laughed at the famine and the shame he caused Israel came to an end. Seeing divine help, the Israelites pursued the Canaanites and overcame them.
Why walk in wickedness and use artifices to take money from someone and many times from the work of God, who only does good to all? This will not end well! Let the Lord use you and you will see that the enemy is nothing before God’s greatness. The Most High only needs to use a little of His little finger to show who He is. Surrender to Him now!

Father, indispensable Cooperator! Your promises will be confirmed, even if man strives to build a tower to reach Heaven, form an army to harm Your people, and create wicked laws to prevent world evangelization. You are God!
When the time comes for You to go to battle to help those who trust in You, everything good and necessary will be seen in action. Then, even the little stream will fill with water, like the force of a bursting dam, and carry everything away. Your operations are tremendous!
Then, the pride of the wicked man will fall to the ground, and Your people will rejoice. Your power cannot be measured nor held back, when You come to the aid of those who believe in You. Help us to trust in You, for that is all we need in life!
