Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon left, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowd was amazed. Luke 11.14

The examples left by the Lord Jesus are valuable lessons, such as the case of the healing of the mute man, registered in Luke, chapter 11, verse 14. In this episode, Christ showed us that sometimes, the loss of speech is not a physical problem, but spiritual. That man would only speak again when the evil spirit in him came out. We learn from this deliverance that the solution is always in Jesus.

The Master spent a lot of time casting out demons. He was teaching us to act that way. However, by our actions, we present ourselves doubtful about the veracity of this teaching. Very few men of God believe in what was taught in the healing of this mute man, that is the reason why the number of sick Christians grow more and more, living in sin and doing all kinds of evil. Those who do not believe completely in the Lord are to blame.

It’s not enough to be polite, speak well and be interested in the well being of people and their families, always calling them to see how they are doing. In a misfortune, a condolence call does not take away the pain for the loss of a loved one or even shoulder to cry on. People want and need obedient servants to the Master who cast out evil spirits, leading them to complete deliverance.

When analyzing the verb used in Luke 11:14, we see that the Savior did not give a quick and direct order to send evil away. By seeing that the Master was casting out a demon, it is possible to understand that He had an attitude to free the man, like ordering the demon to leave that life permanently, taking with it all suffering. Whoever learns from Jesus acts the same way.

When the demon came out, the mute man spoke again. This shows us that when the demon goes away, the damage caused by him is over. It is hard to believe that the spirit of paralysis left, if a person still cannot walk. The same way, if a drunkard converts, but cannot stop drinking or the adulterer that keeps his mistress. The Lord assures: Therefore if the Son sets you free, truly, you will be free (John 8:36).

We have to take the person to the Most High for the evil to leave her completely, because, while there is still the spirit of sin in his life, the evil spirit will remain. Everyone who calls himself a Christian, but desires something that is contrary to the Word, needs to be delivered. It does not matter the position held by him at the church; if he is not delivered, one day, he can be used by the devil in such a filthy work, that he will bring great problems and embarrassment to the Kingdom of God.

A complete deliverance amazes a crowd. This is how, suddenly, a church is full of people eager for deliverance. The work has to start from the leaders, their families and other members of the congregation. Since no one can serve two masters, we will only have a strong church when everyone is set free.
