22/12/2011 - THE OFFER THAT MUST BE PRESENTED

And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

Romans 6:13

The excuse according to which the devil compels man to do wrong things cannot be accepted because Satan does not have such power – and, moreover, no one is supposed to heed the suggestions of the tempter. Although he tempts us, it is up to us to say “no” to his offers. However, if one believes that the devil can force him to fall into his temptations; he is already one step short of transgressing the Word of God.

The truth is that we must present our members – eyes, mouth, mind, desires etc. – and we can present them either to the Lord or the devil. The right thing to do is to present them to God because he who offers any part of themselves to the evil one will be held by his hands. Therefore, every time you are tempted to sin, enter into God’s presence in prayer, ask Him for help and rebuke evil. If you accept the guidance of the Master, you, who is the highest authority of your life, will be strengthened to fight and resist the vilest temptations!

The apostle Paul told Timothy that we should present ourselves approved to God, as workers who do not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing  the Word of truth (II Timothy 2:15). I think that this presentation needs to be daily for Jesus said that every day we must take up our cross and follow Him (Luke 9:23).

We see unsaved people everywhere. This means that we live in the midst of spiritually dead people who do not meet the moral standards of the Scriptures and who, therefore, do the enemy\’s will. If we allow it, those people’s examples will guide our decisions – as is the case of all that happens on TV, fashion and politics, which are scenarios that are always presenting what the enemy wants. So if we do not accomplish our mission every day and if we are not in communion with the Spirit of God and the Word of God, we will be taken by them unexpectedly and will therefore distance ourselves from the Father

My brother, now that you know that you should not present your members as instruments to sin, refuse all satanic suggestions. Always strive to present yourself to God as a worthy servant. When the enemy comes up with any proposal, reject it. Remember that whatever comes from the evil one is unseemly and wicked. If you are weak and are being carried away by temptation, seek God\’s forgiveness and do not submit yourself to doing that which will lead you to perdition. Transgressions may rob you of your eternal happiness. Do not turn anyone into your role model because the only one we must follow is the Lord Jesus!
