In mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
Romans 15:19
As I have already stated in other messages, what makes the Gospel different from other religions is the manifestation of the power of God through signs and wonders. It is through the Gospel – the means prepared by the Lord for men to be able to get to Him – that the divine righteousness is revealed. Without it we are not able to see any operation of God.
The power of the wonderful accomplishments of the Lord impacts everybody. Actually, even the most experienced men of God come to tears when they see the Almighty One performing a miracle. Jesus said that the amazing answers to the prayers of the holy people are also works of God and such wonders should be considered as something normal among the saved ones; after all, they were baptized by the Holy Spirit with the purpose of doing the same things that Christ did in His days on Earth (John 14:12a).
The virtue of the Holy Spirit comes upon all those who are baptized with the Holy Spirit after having accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior. Christ promised that this divine quality would come upon us and He would capacitate us to do the same things He did then. Without baptism a Christian is weak, but after being clothed with authority, all the children of God are qualified to truly represent Jesus.
Paul stated that those divine operations occurred in all places wherever he preached. The same must occur to us: if we are baptized in the same Holy Spirit and anointed with the same capacity to preach the same message, then we are supposed to perform the same miracles He did.
The Gospel of Christ preached wheresoever in the power of the Holy Spirit will have today the same results that were obtained in the ministry of Jesus. He went from town to town spreading the divine message – and in all of them God was with Him confirming His preaching – so we can do the same today. We must not expect to do less than that because we are the ones who will continue His work. He stated that all believers have the obligation to do the same or even greater works than His. Therefore, we cannot be shy or think that we are incapable since the divine authority that we have gives us the prerogative of being used in the same way for the glory of our Father.
Nobody should dare change the divine Message; IT does not have to be improved or adapted to our generation as some people think. The True Gospel preached in the power of the Holy Spirit is the best of God for man and there is nothing more powerful than that. Therefore, dear reader, do not fall for the enemy’s smooth talk whose purpose is to make people think that the Message of the Lord needs a “little push” to be improved.
