“The sea saw it and fled; Jordan turned back.” (Psalm 114:3)

Read the previous and the following verses to the one I quoted above. They tell us about the children of Israel fleeing from Egypt – a quite extraordinary episode, actually. It symbolizes our own deliverance from the empire of darkness. The Lord Jesus gave a spectacular demonstration of His unbeatable power and was indeed triumphant in Himself after defeating the devil and having disarmed principalities and powers (Colossians 1:13; 2:15). Such a power He had that everything worked favorably for the children of God to be able to get out of what had really been their horrendous captivity and to be able to walk firmly towards the Heavenly Canaan. The Way is still open today for those who will listen to the Good News: the Gospel.

God’s been dwelling among His people ever since. And that’s exactly what made the sea flee, and the Jordan turn back, and the mountains and the little hills skip like rams and lambs. The Rock turned into a water spring, and the flint into a fountain of waters: abundant life in operation (John 10:10). There’s no more food shortage; we lack nothing and there’s nothing that can separate us from the Lord (Romans 8:35-39). All foundations rejoice for the righteousness that’s now reigning. Our deliverance is the greatest demonstration of our Lord’s righteousness.

There are no barriers for the children of God to achieve the position assigned to them. The doors are open. The Way is safe and accessible for all those who are called upon. There are some who won’t take part in the wedding of the Lamb of God: the pervert, those who let themselves be carried away by the enemy since they prefer the pleasures of flesh to the Kingdom prepared for them. Some would rather go off to the field they purchased to look at it with admiration; others only have eyes for their marriages and many are entangled in their own sins (Matthew 22:1- 8). What a loss! How can they trade eternal happiness for a fleeting pleasure and, very often, devilish and filthy?

The miracle mentioned above didn’t only happen in the past. It’s performed again every time someone wakes up and gives him or herself to the Lord. Every sinner that cries out for salvation because they realize they’ve lost the means to meet their needs will immediately be snatched out of the empire of horror and they’ll also be taken away with glory right into the Kingdom of Light. On top of that, he walks safely in the shadow of the Almighty God (Psalm 91:1).

The presence of the Lord, the Mighty One, will be with you as you live your life and will never leave you once you accept the gift of the Lord. So, you’ll be enveloped by a fire wall which will never allow any enchantments, witchcraft or any other works of darkness to hit you. A thousand will fall by your side, and ten thousand to your right, but you won’t be hit (Psalm 91:7).

All those that truly convert to God will find out that He’s changed everything around for the better. Those who belong to the divine family will lack nothing. The enemy’s assaults won’t be effective at all when the Lord is beside you. So, don’t get out of His shelter to commit any sinful deeds or to watch them.

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
