21/12/2022 - THE PROOF OF OUR PATERNITY

 They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. John 8.39

The great tragedy of the Jews was that they did not recognize Jehovah, who made the Covenant with Abraham and who came to the world in the flesh to solve their problems. They did not see the Messiah as the Creator of everything, so they did not believe in Him (John 1.1,2,14). Religions are a danger to mankind. They cause people to stop looking to the Lord and pay attention to men who have been used for a work programmed by the Most High.

The Israelites were proud to have Abraham as a reference. However, they did not give him the pleasure of seeing his descendants honoring the One who called him, when he was still in Ur of the Chaldeans (Genesis 12.1). Many children of the saved have also devoted themselves to serving those whom God has used and blessed, instead of consecrating themselves, so that their heavenly Father may do the same to them, as the Scriptures say. Dedicate yourself to the study of the Word without prejudice. Thus, you will be a good servant.         

Those men did not lie when they called themselves sons of Abraham, but they were mistaken in not accepting the Deliverer, who came to fulfill what had been promised to the patriarch. The patriarch had not seen any marvels accomplished by the Redeemer, but trusted the One who invited him to leave his place and go to a land to be shown further on. We lose much by not believing the promises of the Good Shepherd. He is faithful and true (Revelation 19.11)!

How many confess Jesus as their Savior and Lord, but don’t bother to do the work He has determined: preaching the Good News? Even the brothers who claim to be part of the ministry are not ready to evangelize the lost. Now, only those who have the commandments and keep them love the Son of God and, therefore, are loved by Him. Those who take pleasure in keeping the divine commands find themselves loved by the Father and the Son (John 14.21).         

Our way of life shows whether we have truly served the Lord or whether we have deceived ourselves! We must seek the commandments and strive to obey them, for that will make us truly blessed. We lack inspiration, power, material possessions, health, and we don’t see our family, our friends, and others around us at the feet of Christ – because we don’t care about their fate. Can we guarantee that we love God?

Those who rebuked and despised Jesus did not know that they were serving the devil, satisfying his will, and therefore, acting as his children. We ask mercy to those who act the same way today! Being religious does not mean that you are guaranteed entry into the Kingdom of Heaven. No one should be deceived by false speeches, by the conversations of people who know how to deceive, because even they are mistaken. Those who belong to God do His work (1 John 2.6)!

We will prove that we are saved and belong to the Almighty by obeying His Word. In this way, we will live at the highest level. You will never grow in faith without assimilating all that the Bible says. Never be mistaken: God’s people love Him! So, if you want to be among those who will ascend with Jesus, know His precepts and keep them!
