15/11/2010 - THE PROPHET AND HIS PEOPLE

For Jesus Himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country. (John 4:44)

Prophet is someone called by the Lord to be part of the divine ministry. Because he is sensitive to God’s voice, he receives the message from the Almighty and delivers it to the people. Besides, as a servant of the Most High, he is clothed with power and acts with faithfulness, after all the faithful God is on his side to confirm his word and he knows that the Heavens are behind his calling. In some cases, he can also be used to rebuke those who rise up against the work entrusted to him.

The Scriptures state that Jesus testified and all testimony given by Christ must be taken seriously, after all, He never said or will say something that is not strictly the truth. Therefore, once the Master spoke those words, no prophet should expect to be honored in his own country. This is a spiritual law that will never be canceled or modified. Therefore, all who have been called to this holy ministry may consider themselves warned that there is no honor to a prophet in his homeland. I do not know if this is something the Lord established or if it is something that men do out of envy. But one thing is for sure: the prophets should expect to be honored in the midst of those who are not their fellow citizens. Actually, the acknowledgement of a man of God should come only from the Lord Himself – and this will occur far from their relatives and fellow citizens.

Many may ask: "What should a prophet without honor do?" He should continue the mission assigned to him by the Most High: to accomplish the divine work and continue talking about the Father\’s love – regardless of whether he is not honored or is being persecuted – because one day, the righteous Judge will crown him. So until that moment arrives, those who were called by the Lord must continue to serve Him, without waiting for glory or reward from anyone whosoever.

Now, when a Prophet is exalted by the Father, he in his turn must render true honor to the Lord. Whoever does something to the work of God and is therefore accoladed needs to pray not to fall into temptation because his spirit can get haughty and then disconnect from God. In fact, many who were used by the Almighty were carried away by vanity and lost their position in Jesus.

The family of a servant of the Most High shall be like Jesus’ own family. The Lord said that His mother and His brothers were those who heard the Word of God and did it (Luke 8:21). My brethren, it seems unbelievable, but there are relatives and childhood friends that can do us a great harm because if they give a foothold to Satan and are used by him to praise us, they can make us think we are better than other people. There are also those that will be used in a very different way, that is, by embedding in our minds that we are worthless and that the work we do is for our own profit. However, there is only one person we must heed: the Lord, for He will never lead us into error, but rather He will confirm our calling. We should honor Him and trust Him in every situation. Doing so is critical for anyone who wants to be a blessed servant.

In Christ with love,
