The LORD upholds all who fall and raises up all who are bowed down.

Psalm 145:14

Those people who are not acquainted with the Words of God in The Scriptures make fake declarations. The religious ones – Oh, dear! – are experts in saying words never pronounced by The Most High. Undoubtedly, those who do that are sinning. The sin of telling lies is one of the worst ones because all lies go against The Truth, and Jesus is The Truth (John 14: 6). Religious people behave worse than those who do not know The Lord.

The idea I had in mind about those who have fallen is that they were forsaken by The Lord for good. To me, unless they recalled where they fell, and unless they repented, they would not be granted any mercy from God at all. I do not know whether I was told that or whether that just popped into my mind. The truth is that similar concepts such as that one – and even worse ones – are made up and then they become doctrines. Today, I realize that the truth is further away from that. Our Sovereign is merciful and He behaves distinctly from our reasoning.

Then one day, when for the first time I carefully looked into the verse above; well, it took me by surprise. I was content with my discovery considering that my heart used to hurt for those who have fallen. I realized that I needed to tell that to all those who have turned away from the divine way. The Lord does not hand them into the enemy’s claws! On the contrary, He supports them! His loving heart, in fact, does not like to see anybody lost, not even those who have turned their back to Him for any reason whatsoever.

Then I began to realize how marvellous and surprising our God is. He, our Father, is truly a Dad. All those who are lost sheep from the herd of The Lord need to know that they are not forsaken, but they are indeed well-supported! God just expects them to recognize that they have fallen and then that they are determined to come back to Him. With His endless love He will embrace them, and He will forgive them and He will make them go back to the communion they had with Him before.

We need to tell all those who have fallen that God has not forsaken them, that He is not casting them into the mud of sin, but yes, He is indeed lifting them up. Precisely for that reason, many people cannot bear listening to songs whose subject is the divine love, nor can they hear a message without shedding tears. It is very good to know that The Lord behaves that way because, if that was not the case, the harm would be enormous.

If you have fallen you must not be bowed down, turn to The Most High in prayer and confess to Him now all your errors. He will forgive you and He will make you go back to the communion you had with Him before. The Most Powerful One will cast all your sins into the deepest sea (Micah 7: 19), and you will be given new clothes, you will be granted shoes of authority to put on, and you will even receive a ring of authority on your finger from the family of our Creator.

Those who feel weak and are afraid of falling again need to have a word with The Lord about it, He will help you. So, do not forget! Jesus will never throw away that person who, one day, turned to Him.

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
