09/03/2011 - The reason why you’re under certain circumstances

“And they were left, that He might test Israel by them, to know whether they would obey the commandments of the LORD, which He had commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.” (Judges 3: 4)
God doesn’t treat us like robots. Now, every person that becomes His child is put to test apart from being scourged (Hebrews 12: 6) and there’s a reason for that: the Lord wants to see whether we pay heed to His commandments or not. So, we’ve got to watch out and pray not to fall for a temptation (Matthew 26: 41) which will surely come but they mustn’t get into our hearts.
The Most High allowed some of the Israelite tribes to be tempted by other peoples with sinful hints, woes and strategic teasing in order for them to do all their best and listen carefully to what He’d told them. Israel should demonstrate that the fear for the Lord is more important. Today we’ve got to know the teachings that our Master granted to us – the same ones of the Old Covenant; but improved -, and keep them never to be forgotten.
Now, answer me sincerely: How would you react if someone declared they’re now your enemy, just like that, out of the blue, and what if they began to hate you and maltreat you and chase you? Would you love them? Would you bless their lives? Would you give them a hand if any of those evil-doers needed it? Would you pray for them at your communion time with Christ? Well, you’ve got to read that passage in Matthew 5:44 and follow the instructions in it if you don’t feel capable of behaving that way to those who do those things to you. Jesus teaches us exactly what we’ve got to do there. Don’t you think those people have bumped into you so you’ll show our Father what’s actually in your heart?
Many Christians fall due to their sins. Some people might wonder if adultery was the cause of their fall, for they were weak. Not at all! You might not believe it, but that wasn’t the reason of their fall. They committed adultery because they had already sinned by despising the Word of God and the same goes for their being dishonest and any other “small sin” they might’ve committed. When you don’t keep the divine commandments you’re committing the biggest sin ever; that sin causes you to cast a seductive look at somebody else but your spouse. The same happens when we are jealous of somebody else’s car, somebody else’s house, somebody else’s happiness, etc.
The best thing we can do in life is the following: have communion with the Most High and pay no notice to the uncontrolled wishes whenever they emerge. Those who walk in Spirit will never fulfil the desires of flesh. But the opposite is also true: those who don’t walk in holiness will undoubtedly give in to all of the opponent’s temptations. So, my dear brother, isn’t it time you take a close look at yourself and change your attitude in case you find yourself under that circumstance?
In Christ, with love,
R. R. Soares
