10/12/2022 - THE REST AND THE NAME

“I will stretch out My hand against Judah, And against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. I will cut off every trace of Baal from this place, the names of the idolatrous priests with the pagan priest    Zephaniah 1.4

The kinds of sins that existed in Judah also exist today under other names, but their mentor is the same: the devil. The prophet Zephaniah was used by the Lord to give the message to the citizens of Judah, the kingdom that was faithful to the house of David. It is amazing how this part of the Israelites did not amend and rejected the divine revelations. They were taken to Babylon to suffer the disobedience of their evil deeds, for they chose rebellion (2 Kings 25:8-15).

The accursed Baal led multitudes away from the Lord, with his cult of promiscuity and servitude to Satan. Those who worked for this diabolical doctrine let the land of God’s people be stained. At the second coming of Jesus, the saved will be taken from the Earth; the lost, sent to the lake of fire and brimstone, and the planet and everything on it will burn up and melt away, with no more operation of the kingdom of evil (Revelation 20.11-21.8)!

In fact, other unrighteous practices lead many people astray from good, as was the case in Biblical times. The Bible gives us the following advice: He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still” (Revelation 22.11). Your attitude will determine where you will be forever. So, believe in God and you will go to Heaven!

The consequence that resulted to the one who prostrated before Baal and his priests will reach the one who doesn’t repent of his sins, deciding to live at the feet of the devil’s servants. In the same way, those who prostitute themselves, cheat and practice the other deviations of the people will suffer serious harm. At His return, Jesus will put an end to all the work of hell in our midst. We will be free indeed!

According to the Scriptures, in eternity with the heavenly Father, there will be no memory of the filthy things that lead many to perdition. This is the fate of those who have stopped doing good and decided to “enjoy” sin without fear. It doesn’t matter the size of the immorality; if the person practices it without repenting, he will be led to eternal punishment. To be holy is the duty of every child of God!

Those who persist in serving the evil spirits and their demands will be punished. Those thrown into the lake of fire will have their hopes of being received into Heaven extinguished, for they will never again leave this dreadful place of torment. To dwell in Heaven, one must be born again, accepting Jesus as Savior, and stand firm in the faith until the end (John 1.12; 3.5).

No iniquity will ever enter Heaven – an attitude outside what the Bible preaches as divine work – nor will there be sick, sinful or disturbed people. There, it will be the home of the redeemed of the Lord, of those who have hated the works of the flesh (Revelation 22.1-5). Be one of these!
