I have set the LORD always before me; because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.

Psalm 16:8

How have you been treating the Lord? Have you treated the Most High like any other person or have your turned to Him with tenderness, consideration and respect?

We must not forget that He is the only God (Ephesians 4:6) and that though He loves us and calls us His children we must ascribe to Him sovereignty over our lives. Therefore, it is not correct to behave as if He were like us. When we are obedient to His Word we fulfil the requirements for Him to work in our favor. The right thing to do, my brethren, is to always put Him at the command of our life, which means we must never forget His commandments.

When we act based on what is written in the Bible by obeying the divine ordinances, we give the Most High pre-eminence over our lives. However, if we declare that we belong to Him but we are not obedient to His Words – or when we do not heed His revelations and do not fulfil His commandments – we are declaring, in other words, that we do not believe in Him.

Keeping the Lord’s company brings us numerous blessings. One of them is that He will show us what we have done wrong. If you have realized that some of your decisions should have been made in a different way and yet you ended up doing the wrong thing, then you need to pray and ponder on what you have done to your spiritual life because the normal thing is to have God showing us what are the things that hampers His operation. That, by the way, is a correct action to take because it is impossible for a heart to be healthy if it is not reprimanded. It is written in the Bible that the Lord chastens everyone He accepts as His children (Hebrews 12:6).

With God by your side the doors will always be open for you. He is omniscient and He will prevent you from stumbling. On top of that, you will not be late or early at the place where you must be; rather you will always be there at the right moment.

Another fact we must pay attention to is that the Lord is never taken by surprise; on the contrary, He is always ready to help out His children. He spots danger and the plan of the enemy, then He warns His loved ones to avoid passing by a certain way, to avoid a certain person or a certain kind of business.

The divine promise for us is that the Lord will stay by our right side. In the past those who were put by His side were like prime-ministers or someone who ruled a nation. If God stands by your side, He will rule your life and you will not even notice some of the problems that surround you. The Almighty One will always tell you what must be done and He will fight your battles (II Chronicles 32:8).

Those who tremble in fear before a temptation have no regard for the biblical promises; rather, they are being deceived by the devil. But when a Christian acts according to the Heavenly instructions, he or she will never hesitate. So, in order for you not to be defeated by Satan you must make the decision of having the Most High always by your side!

In Christ, with love,
