For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the LORD is against those who do evil.

I Peter 3: 12

The righteous always stand out on account of their being zealous. They won’t perpetrate any evil deed ever even to those who might cause them suffering for love towards righteousness. To them, going through suffering on account of their love towards Christ and His work will always be such a delight which they’ll never give up. If you lived in a land where servants of God were being subjected to any sort of persecution – in case that makes you fear – it turns out that you’re most likely unqualified as a righteous person.

Those who are frightened by what might happen to them just because they’re serving God are, in fact, not thorough in faith. Now, the righteous have no clue at all about what fear is really like. To them being obedient to Christ is what really matters and they don’t care about the price they have to pay for that. Now, those who aren’t thorough in faith tend to be troubled with the slightest thought of what could happen to them on account of the faith they say they have in The Lord. The truth is that our Father does take care of those who truly belong to Him.

A Christian who answers aggressively to someone who’s been offensive to them is in great disadvantage. The truth is that it doesn’t matter what might be said about us since we’re already informed about the fact that that would happen to us (II Timothy 3: 12). The Lord Jesus warned us that because He was slandered and also persecuted we have to agree that we, being His servants, will go through all that  as well (John 15: 20). Yet, being slandered, offended, scorned, debased, defamed for one’s love towards Christ is a prerogative of all those who have great rewards in store.

A child of God should never repay evil with evil; they’d better bless those who are used by the enemy to venomously affect them. We’ve been called to preach anytime, under any circumstance, even through trials, hardship and dangerous moments. Some people will only get converted when their wickedness has run out; and those Christians who are engaged in conquering them will certainly be greatly rewarded in the end.

Our main goal is to achieve our blessing. Provided we resist those offences allowed by The Lord to come against us we’ll certainly be rewarded. Nevertheless, if we flee from the threat of persecution we’ll be compared to mercenaries who – due to the fact of not being shepherds – run away at the sight of the howling wolf. There are many ways to glorify The Lord with our death. In case the kind of death chosen by Him for us doesn’t please us at all we must make up our minds and accept it with joy.

The servants of God must stay away from evil and when they do that they won’t take the risk of being found guilty by any of the devil’s accusations; those who let themselves be lured by the devil’s fabrications end up in his clutches. On the other hand, the children of The Most High have to perpetrate goodness which means conveying the Good Word of The Lord to the lost by assisting them with faith and prayer.

Looking for peace is pretty much profitable for those who belong to God. To achieve it they must consecrate their lives through fasting and prayer whenever necessary. Once they’ve found the divine direction they need to follow it strictly which will greatly please God. We mustn’t forget that the joy of The Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8: 10 b).

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
