The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
Psalm 1:4
In the first verses, the Spirit describes what happens to the man who fears the Lord and whose delight is in His commandments: for he will be blessed (Psalm 128). When He says those things, the Almighty is guiding us to always examine our life of faith. Unfortunately, many converted people are not taught to respect the Word of God, but rather that which the church or their leader thinks they should do.
The wicked are those who choose the wrong path, which leads to the abyss. Their stay on earth is full of torment and oppression from the forces of darkness; their days are evil because their attitude towards the Word does not allow them to know goodness, and, moreover, they lose a lot due to their lack of communion with the Lord. Eventually, when they die their grief will never end (Matthew 25:30).
The worst thing someone can do is disrespect the Word of God. Whoever gets carried away by this kind of temptation will not succeed in their spiritual life. They do not measure the consequences of what they say and do, and the sad thing is that they once were enlightened by truth, but, with time, they allowed the enemy to dominate their faith and lost all interest for the Scriptures.
The Lord compares this kind of people to the chaff that the wind drives away. The devil does whatever he wants with them. Furthermore, the wicked is unstable in that they are not moved by the Spirit – the foundation of all things – and they are driven away by the wind of any deceptive doctrine. Those who are in error think that to continue transgressing is no big deal. For them, unfortunately, the gloom of eternal darkness is what is in store for them.
Have you been lured by temptations? Have you sought your blessing but it seems you can never achieve it no matter how fast you chase it? Have you prayed without getting the answer promised by God? Have you faced many hardships? Has the enemy made you suffer, and as a result your plans are never accomplished? Do people around you approach you aiming at some advantage instead of helping you?
If these things have happened to you, it is necessary to return to the feet of Jesus and start your journey of faith over again. All of this is a sign that you are not well spiritually. What has occupied your heart, your mind and your desires? Betrayal, malice and revenge or spite are proof that you have become wicked.
