Nehemiah asked his brother several questions, and the answer was a negative statement, full of misery. Those who remained in Judah did nothing to change their way of life, for they did not even summon the others to pray for an outpouring of power. The expected deliverance would come from this. It was a testament to their complete incapacity. Many had become accustomed to sin and conformism. This is serious!
God’s servant heard what he did not expect. With angelic sincerity, they were told that the remnant did not act to have their fortunes changed. This is happening in churches today, as many Christians have become religious and have stopped practicing the Word, the only one capable of empowering them. It is no wonder that the glow of salvation is no longer there in many brethren. It is necessary to awaken them to the life of faith (Ephesians 5:14-17).
Judah became a poverty-stricken province of Babylon, and although this kingdom was defeated by Persia, the situation didn’t change. From what God had spoken to Nehemiah’s heart, there would soon be a radical change in the Land of Promise, for the Lord would arise to give the necessary freedom to His people, who in those days lived in penury in the land flowing with milk and honey. May the Most High wake up His Church to what it has to do in Christ!
Jerusalem was described as a forsaken place, with its walls cracked, falling to pieces. It was said of the once glorious city of the great King, that the arrows of the enemy would not enter it; but now they have entered with sin (Psalm 58:7). The irresponsible living of those who governed the country is like a house of cards, ready to collapse. Until when will those who call themselves Christians continue to relate to the devil, doing what the Bible condemns?
The gates of the noble city of the Lord were burned with fire, as an outrage from Hell. Now, the devil has already been defeated by Jesus and therefore cannot subject the Church to his disastrous hands. The Savior has given us the authority to defeat the forces of the enemy. Therefore, we must never bow down before his threats. After all, we are more than conquerors in all things (Romans 8:37). Believe what the Most High says about your position in Him (2 Corinthians 5:17).
There is a God who hears and answers prayers, and He will surely bless us greatly. But we must love Him with all our heart. This means having His commandments and keeping them, so that He will always hear us. These are the words of the blind man healed by Jesus: Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him (John 9:31). Do the will of the Almighty, and your petitions will be granted!
Don’t let misery, drugs, prostitution, pain, crime, and other works of the enemy get to you and your family. Be a preacher of the Word on time and off time. Prepare yourself to have the promised success. Serve the Lord with joy!
In Christ, with love,

God of the blessing and not of the curse! We cannot exchange You for false gods. Your Word already warns us of the bad things that will happen to us in the world, and the damnation we will face for eternity, if we leave You and bow down to the devil!
We desire to walk with You and do Your will. Nothing can compare to You, for You are merciful, good, and perfect. In Your arms we will walk secure and happy, and no evil will befall us, and no plague will come upon us!
Forgive us for not seeking You as we should have. Now, after having gone through the fire without burning and through waters without sinking, we long for the fulfillment of Your promises. Thank You for really loving us!
