Has He struck Israel as He struck those who struck him? Or has He been slain according to the slaughter of those who were slain by Him?  Isaiah 27.7

What a prophecy! Isaiah spoke what would happen to our Savior about 700 years before He was born. The devil tried with all his weapons to prevent the coming of the Son of God. An example of this was what happened to the children of the region of Bethlehem, who were killed on the orders of King Herod. Among them was the Messiah, who, according to the magi understood, should have been born in Bethlehem, because they saw His star and followed it until they found Him (Matthew 2.16-18). God is faithful!

As for what would happen to the Son of God, the prophet said: He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth (Isaiah 53.7). Jesus was born destined to be killed for our sake, in order to pay for our sins. He also died so that we could be healed of our diseases, so we should pray, with faith, rejecting them (Matthew 8.16,17; 1 Peter 2.24).

People who do not fear God, even before the Savior, do wrong things, as Luke described: Now the men who held Jesus mocked Him and beat Him. And having blindfolded Him, they struck Him on the face and asked Him, saying, “Prophesy! Who is the one who struck You?” (Luke 22.63-64). In fact, they did not know why the Redeemer was there: to take away their sins and evils.

The divine reward will never resemble any other. He only works in love and righteousness. One day, Christ wept over Jerusalem, saying: O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! (Matthew 23.37). They killed the prophets who warned them, and then they killed the Lord. But He is risen!

Faced with the mockery of people at His crucifixion, greatly offending Him, the Master declared, Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do (Luke 23.34). In the same way, He looks at sinners today and intercedes for them, for His heart is pure and offers them the true righteousness of God, to give the devil what he deserves: fire from on High burning him up!

The Lord never hurt those who hurt Him, nor cursed them as He was cursed. He desires the good of all people, especially their eternal happiness. But those who are not born again will not enter the Kingdom of God. Therefore, if you are one of them, accept Christ as your Savior and be taught by your heavenly Father. God is your greatest Friend and patiently convinces you to come to Christ and receive salvation (John 1.12).

If Jesus had wanted to, with one word, He would have finished off those who were ready to kill Him. However, He gave Himself for the sake of sinners. His will is that all should turn to God, accepting the new birth and divine power´s guidance (1 Timothy 2.4). You will be a new creation by receiving Christ as your Savior!

In Christ, with love,

Father of love and truth! It is good to know Your character and Your patience, and be able to love You with all our heart. Although we have committed the worst sins, You are good and want our eternal happiness. Therefore, we come to You for salvation and forgiveness.

Your Son did not hurt any of those who hurt Him, but behaved with dignity, because Your love was in Him. Now we can be free from the onslaughts of the kingdom of darkness. We will never hurt those who want our harm. You are our Strength and Shelter.

Your Holy Spirit gives Your same consolations that Your Son gave during His days on Earth. We, Your servants, must also be of the same Spirit, to offer to all the proof that You are one with Your people when they are bound by the Truth.
