But even after we had suffered before and were spitefully treated at Philippi, as you know, we were bold in our God to speak to you the gospel of God in much conflict. 1 Thessalonians 2:2

It doesn’t please the Lord when people complain or beg not to be sent to the battlefield. The Father didn’t spare His own son – who is God with Him – and sent Him to Earth to die in our place; He won’t spare us either if that’s necessary so that the world may know His salvation.

Jesus rebuked Peter when he began to sink after seeing the strong winds that were coming against him. Jesus asked Peter why was he doubting, and called him “a man of little faith” (Mt. 14:30, 31). The truth is that in eternity (which means that there will be no end), in Heaven, we will enjoy the divine glory and reward. I dare to say that those who were martyrs will be very well rewarded.

On the other hand, Paul and Silas had to be beaten by the authorities in Philippi so that they’d become bold in the Lord (Acts 16:20-26). All the Lord’s servants should act this way, because we carry the only message that frees the lost from hell and transports them to heaven. It is obvious that the devil will do everything he can to stop Christians from rescuing those who are lost.

Those who reject being bold in the Lord could face a very hard time in the future. This happens because when we don’t believe with all our hearts, God sends adverse moments to make us believe that He’s the one who gives us the mission, the victory and the escape whenever He considers being the right moment. There is no other way to spread the Word of the gospel under the Holy Spirit’s anointing if not with boldness.

Most of the times, the preaching of the genuine gospel of the kingdom of heaven brings along with it delicate moments inside the house, with family members, at work and with friends. However, since we should always act according to the divine orientation, we shouldn’t worry, because we will achieve victory in all these situations when the Holy Spirit uses us.

When battling in faith, what you think or want doesn’t matter. God isn’t going to do anything new except use us just as He did in the past with our brothers and sisters. When we follow His directions we are surrendering all the glory to Him alone. Therefore do not restrain the eternal Lord from using you. Our attitude should always be to thank Him for the privilege of suffering in His name.

We must fulfill the divine call that was directed to us in the physical and spiritual fields with boldness, without fearing the enemy’s threats. After all, when Christ is with us, we cannot be defeated.
