For he held fast to the Lord; he did not depart from following Him, but kept His commandments, which the Lord had commanded Moses.

II Kings 18: 6

King Hezekiah took over the kingdom of Judah in a quite troubled time but right from start he showed he’d succeed. His attitude regarding the sinful service which was being adopted then was altogether repulsive. Though his father had set a bad example, Hezekiah turned to The Word of God and then he worked his way out into pleasing The Most High who transformed him into the most important king of Judah.

The secret is the fact that that king got nearer to The Lord. The Word declares that if we turn to God He’ll turn to us (James 4: 8 a). Never mind about your current situation, provided you’re really willing to attain the divine assistance you are to get nearer our Father with all your heart so you’ll have Him by your side. Those who let themselves be induced by the words of the devil which goes like, “there’s no way out for you”, are placing themselves in a position very hard for to the divine power to reach.

Once the kingdom was confirmed to Hezekiah he didn’t turn away from The Lord. The error of turning away from The Most High has been committed by many people. When they’re going through hindrances they tend to get closer to God but once all that trouble is sorted they forsake Him. You must never turn your back to The One who can and wants to make you a blessing. Where will the person who runs from God turn to once there is no one else who can deliver them from evil?

Hezekiah was keen to get acquainted with the commandments that God had given to Moses and he began putting them into practice at once, by doing so, he made himself beloved by The Lord. If you want to be loved by our Father and thus attain victory against evil powers you must follow suit. Those who won’t bow down before The Almighty are being induced by the enemy. There’s no such a thing as neutrality in the spiritual realm, “we’re either on the goodness side or we make ourselves servants of evil”.

Though that king wasn’t keeping an eye out when the princes of Babylon paid him a visit – on account of prophet Isaiah’s reprimand – he made a massive effort to always stand firm in faith – had he not pleaded his rights as a servant of God his faith wouldn’t have grown and what was hampering his healing then wouldn’t have been removed. And then his life would’ve been cut short.

The way Hezekiah served God drew the attention of the writer of the second book of Kings to the point of saying that Hezekiah had put so much trust in The Lord that, neither after nor before him was there such king in Judah who performed the same noble attitudes. How has your journey of faith been? What is being written about you in The Heavens? Make sure your story here is being positively reported there.

God’s pleased with those who put their trust in Him. And when that becomes a reality to someone they always receive the divine favour. Failing to trust in The Most High is giving room to the devil to mess with your life. Those who trust in The Lord will never be put to shame (Isaiah 49:23). The Almighty knows how to keep from tribulations those who are obedient to His Word.

In Christ, with love,
